Vitamin E Deficiency in Dogs.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1939
SummaryA deficiency in pups produced from dogs maintained for long periods of time on mineralized evaporated milk has been described. The condition is undoubtedly identical with muscle dystrophy previously described in rats, guinea pigs and rabbits and is cured by synthetic α-tocopherol if therapy is initiated before the symptoms are too far advanced.

Emerging Therapeutic Strategies for Hearing Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Challenges still exist in treating hearing loss in cases of severe damage to hair cells or spiral ganglion neurons. Here, a schematic diagram of cochlear sensory hair cells and auditory nerves is presented. It is found that in normal Corti organs, hair cells have upright stereocilia at the top and auditory neurons at the base. Ototoxic drugs, noise, or

Synthesizing Correlations with Computational Likelihood Approach: Vitamin C Data [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
It is known that the primary source of dietary vitamin C is fruit and vegetables and the plasma level of vitamin C has been considered a good surrogate biomarker of vitamin C intake by fruit and vegetable consumption. To combine the information about association between vitamin C intake and the plasma level of vitamin C, numerical approximation methods
