Comparative metabolic profiling of Vitis amurensis and Vitis vinifera during cold acclimation

open access: yesHorticulture Research, 2019
Vitis amurensis is a wild Vitis plant that can withstand extreme cold temperatures. However, the accumulation of metabolites during cold acclimation (CA) in V. amurensis remains largely unknown. In this study, plantlets of V. amurensis and V. vinifera cv.

Assessment of hepatoprotective and nephroprotective effects of Vitis vinifera leaf extract on carbon tetrachloride induced toxicity in rats

open access: yesJournal of Applied Pharmaceutical Research
Background: Vitis vinifera is known for its antimicrobial activity; however, the hepatoprotective activity of aqueous extracts of aerial parts has also been reported, but the nephroprotective and hepatoprotective activity of ethanolic extracts have not ...

Genetic Diversity and Population Structure in a Vitis spp. Core Collection Investigated by SNP Markers

open access: yesDiversity, 2020
Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping arrays are powerful tools to measure the level of genetic polymorphism within a population. The coming of next-generation sequencing technologies led to identifying thousands and millions of SNP loci useful

Unexpected Dual Function of Plant YUCCA Enzymes Links Chlorophyll Catabolism to Auxin Homeostasis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
YUCCA enzymes are well known to catalyze the main step of auxin biosynthesis in plants. Here, a hitherto undescribed dual function was discovered, revealing that some YUCCAs also act in chlorophyll degradation. In vitro feedback regulation furthermore suggests a link between chlorophyll degradation and hormone homeostasis and a physiological role of ...

Novel Bioactive Multifunctional Polyphenols: A Chemo‐Enzymatic Approach

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
One‐step synthesis of complex alkyl oxystilbenin glucosides (6‐47% yield) in alcoholic medium. Switching to ter‐BuOH as solvent afforded δ‐Viniferin diglucoside, with high selectivity and high yield (> 90%), that can be upgraded by enzymatic esterification to alkyl δ‐Viniferin diglucosides.
