This study compares oxidative stability, fatty acid profiles, volatile compounds, and sensory attributes of four Xinjiang seed oils. Distinct aldehyde‐driven aroma patterns and compositional differences were revealed, providing a scientific basis for quality evaluation and valorization of underutilized plant seed oils in food applications.

Abstract BACKGROUND Climate change has driven the expansion of viticulture in high‐altitude tropical regions. The dynamics of grape ripening and its metabolic profile are influenced by climatic conditions. This study aimed to identify the optimal harvest period for Cabernet Sauvignon grapes cultivated in an emerging Brazilian high‐altitude region using

Evolutionary genomics of grape ( Vitis vinifera ssp. vinifera ) domestication [PDF]
Significance We generated genomic data to estimate the population history of grapes, the most economically important horticultural crop in the world. Domesticated grapes experienced a protracted, 22,000-y population decline prior to domestication; we hypothesize that this decline reflects low-intensity cultivation by humans prior to ...

Abstract BACKGROUND Fungus‐resistant PIWI (Pilzwiderstandsfähig) grape cultivars are promising for reducing pesticide inputs in viticulture, but their enological potential is still poorly characterized. We performed a pilot, single‐vintage study integrating berry gene expression and phenolic composition in five Italian red PIWI cultivars (Cabernet ...

Genomic structure and ex situ conservation of the North American grapevine Vitis labrusca
The North American wild grapevine species Vitis labrusca is an important source of disease resistance and climate resilience traits for breeding new grapevine cultivars. To ensure its continued use in breeding, V. labrusca must be accurately identified and genetically diverse material must be conserved.
