Peculiar rotation of electron vortex beams [PDF]
Standard electron optics predicts Larmor image rotation in the magnetic lens field of a TEM. Introducing the possibility to produce electron vortex beams with quantized orbital angular momentum brought up the question of their rotational dynamics in the presence of a magnetic field. Recently, it has been shown that electron vortex beams can be prepared

Modeling for Partially Spatially Coherent Vortex Beams
We propose a method for modeling a wide class of partially spatially coherent vortex beams. It is shown that any member of such beams can be represented as an incoherent superposition of fully coherent vortex models weighted by a non-negative weighting ...

Vortex Beam Encoded All-Optical Logic Gates Based on Nano-Ring Plasmonic Antennas
Vortex beam encoded all-optical logic gates are suggested to be very important in future information processing. However, within current logic devices, only a few are encoded by using vortex beams and, in these devices, some space optical elements with ...

Physical Essence of Propagable Fractional‐Strength Optical Vortices in Free Space
Fractional‐order vector vortex beams (VVBs) have recently been demonstrated as new carriers of fractional‐strength optical vortices. However, the inherent mechanism of the new vortex beams, formed by the combination of both unstable states, to propagate ...

Correcting vortex splitting in higher order vortex beams
We demonstrate a general method for the first order compensation of singularity splitting in a vortex beam at a single plane. By superimposing multiple forked holograms on the SLM used to generate the vortex beam, we are able to compensate vortex splitting and generate beams with desired phase singularities of order ℓ = 0, 1, 2, and 3 in one plane.

Numerical Analysis and Verification of Off-Axis Double Vortex Beams
Vortex beams are unique in that they have annular spatial profiles and carry orbital angular momentum. This has led to their use in applications including laser processing, microparticle manipulation and signal transmission.
