Recurrent outbreaks of infectious bursal disease (IBD) in a layer farm caused by very virulent IBD virus (vvIBDV) in India: Pathology and molecular analysis

South Asian Journal of Experimental Biology, 2013
The present study was carried out to investigate and characterize the nature of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) involved in the recurrent outbreaks in an experimental layer farm in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India using direct tissue reverse transcription- polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) followed by nucleotide sequencing of VP2 gene.

DNA vaccination with VP2 gene of very virulent infectious bursal disease virus (vvIBDV) delivered by transgenic E. coli DH5α given orally confers protective immune responses in chickens

Vaccine, 2007
The efficacy of different doses of oral DNA vaccines carrying VP2 gene of vvIBDV delivered by E. coli DH5alpha was studied and compared with purified VP2 recombinant expression plasmid DNA vaccine injected intradermally and whole virus vaccine either from homologous virus or from commercial source.
