Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation in Patients With Severely Decreased Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ablation of ventricular tachycardia (VT) is often performed in patients with structural heart disease. Procedural and delayed enhancement cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (DE‐CMR) characteristics among patients with very severe cardiomyopathy (CM) and without left‐ventricular assist devices (LVAD) have been incompletely described.

Clinical Impact of the Incision of the Capsule Floor During Generator Replacement on Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device Infection Risk: A Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The fibrous capsule around cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) generators represents avascular tissue that could be colonized and provides the nidus for latent infection. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effects of incision of the capsule floor at the lower and/or medial part at the time of generator ...

Superwide Left Atrial Circumferential Ablation for Persistent Atrial Fibrillation: A Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background It remains to be answered whether further enlargement of the isolation area in the left atrium (LA) could produce better effectiveness than pulmonary vein antrum isolation (PVAI) for treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF). Aims To assess the effectiveness of superwide left atrial circumferential ablation (SWLACA) for treatment of ...

Vonoprazan or Proton Pump Inhibitor for Gastric Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection in Patients Taking Antithrombotic Agents

open access: yesJournal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Aim Delayed bleeding is a major concern after gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), especially in patients taking antithrombotic agents. The aim of this study was to evaluate the superiority of vonoprazan (VPZ) over proton pump inhibitor (PPI) in preventing delayed bleeding after gastric ESD in patients taking ...

Hypercoagulability identified in dogs with chronic enteropathy using a point‐of‐care viscoelastic assay

open access: yesJournal of Small Animal Practice, EarlyView.
Objectives Thromboelastography (TEG) using the TEG 6s, a point‐of‐care viscoelastic assay, was prospectively evaluated in dogs with chronic enteropathy (CE). Additionally, the study determined whether disease activity, assessed using the Canine Chronic Enteropathy Clinical Activity Index (CCECAI), correlated with TEG 6s parameters.
