The purpose of this investigation was to assess the effects of different active warm-up (AWU) durations on the diurnal variations of temperature and power output during the Wingate test. Eleven physical education students underwent the Wingate test at 08:00 and 18:00 h after four AWU protocols: control warm-up (CWU), 5 min (AWU5), 15 min (AWU15), and ...

Evidence for performance decrements following prolonged static stretching (SS) has led to a paradigm shift in stretching routines within a warm-up. Rather than SS, dynamic stretching (DS) and dynamic activity (DA) have replaced SS within warm-up routines. The objective of the present study was to compare the effect of differing lower limb SS durations (

Refractories and Industrial Ceramics, 2015
Measures are developed for improving heating unit (converter) lining life. This task is resolved by studying the mechanism of heating unit lining breakdown during heating and cooling, changes in thermophysical properties of refractories of different composition, and also refractories impregnated with copper-nickel matte.

It has been proposed that warm-up activities including static stretching may have detrimental effects on power performance. While it is well established in the literature that more than 30 s of stretching before exercise induces deficit in force and power production, there are still controversial findings regarding 30 s or less when additional ...

Empirically, many procedures are used by sportsmen to warm up, such as massage, hot showers, or muscular exercise, although their objective effect on performance is still not evident. The present study investigates different warming up durations and intensities with or without a resting period between warming up and the criterion exercise, both ...

Purpose. The purpose of this study was to determine the stretching duration (15, 30, 60 seconds) with or without a dynamic warm-up that resulted in the longest lasting acute effects in hamstring flexibility. Subjects. Forty subjects (17 male, 23 female) (age: 20-35 years) were selected to participate in this study using a sample of convenience ...

ACUTE EFFECT OF STATIC WARM UP DURATION ON 50 METER FREESTYLE AND BREASTSTROKE PERFORMANCE
2017The purpose of this study was to determine the acute effect of different static warm up durations on sub-elite female swimmers on 50 m free and breaststroke swimming performance. Ten sub-elite women swimmers (age 22.46 ± 2.64 years, body height 163,4 ± 4.27 cm, body weight 56.39±9.72 kg, BMI 21.09±3.27 kg/m2 and BFP 21.77±8.06 %) were assigned randomly
