Volatile flavour components of watercress
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1975AbstractUsing previously reported methods of sample preparation an essence of watercress was obtained which proved to contain only four major components. All are glucosinolate degradation products with 3‐phenylpropionitrile the major compound, although the related 2‐phenylethyl isothiocyanate is most important in flavour terms.

Nasturtium officinale R.Br.: Watercress
2020Nasturtium officinale (watercress) is used as an aromatic food and medicinal plant. Furthermore, it can be used for water phytoremediation. The species is native in the Northern hemisphere, but due to cultivation, it is distributed worldwide. Watercress is perennial plant growing in floating water, naturally tetraploid with unknown diploid progenitors.

Evolution of Fascioliasis after Eating Wild Watercress
Australian and New Zealand Journal of Medicine, 1982Fascioliasis is rarely reported in humans although it is endemic in sheep and cattle. We describe the illness of a 60-year-old widow who ate wild watercress which is the usual source of infestation. Laparotomy for suspected liver abscesses revealed necrotic tracts on the surface of the liver left by the invasion of numerous flukes.
