KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Multimodal Phase-Space Dynamics Fusion for Robust Ischemia Screening: An Edge-AI Paradigm with SERF Magnetocardiography

open access: yesBiosensors
Background: Myocardial ischemia (MI) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and requires timely and reliable detection. Although Spin-Exchange Relaxation-Free (SERF) magnetocardiography (MCG) provides femtotesla-level sensitivity for ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Weak core and central weak core inverse in a proper $*$-ring

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, we introduce the notion of weak core and central weak core inverse in a proper $*$-ring. We further elaborate on these two classes by producing a few representation and characterization of the weak core and central weak core invertible ...

Checkpoint blockade and the stem‐like T cell trade‐off

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Stem‐like T cells are key to the success of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD1) blockade, as they sustain long‐term anti‐tumor response by continuously generating effector CD8+ T cells. However, how these cells are maintained in cancer is not fully understood. Hor et al.

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

A Femtosecond Electron‐Based Versatile Microscopy for Visualizing Carrier Dynamics in Semiconductors Across Spatiotemporal and Energetic Domains

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Carrier dynamics detection in different dimensions (space, time, and energy) with high resolutions plays a pivotal role in the development of modern semiconductor devices, especially in low‐dimensional, high‐speed, and ultrasensitive devices.

Experiments on Linear and Nonlinear Localization of Optical Vortices in Optically Induced Photonic Lattices

open access: yesInternational Journal of Optics, 2012
We provide a brief overview on our recent experimental work on linear and nonlinear localization of singly charged vortices (SCVs) and doubly charged vortices (DCVs) in two-dimensional optically induced photonic lattices.

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...
