Crystal structure of 4-(4-methoxyphenoxy)benzaldehyde

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2015
The title compound, C14H12O3, was synthesized via the nucleophilic addition of 4-methoxyphenol to 4-fluorobenzaldehyde. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the benzene rings is 71.52 (3)° and the C—O—C angle at the central O atom is ...

Seismic Response and Damage Characteristics of RCC Gravity Dams Considering Weak Layers Based on the Cohesive Model

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
Due to the construction technology of roller compacted concrete (RCC) gravity dams, there are many weak layers that have the potential to affect the seismic performance of dams. However, research on the seismic response and failure characteristics of RCC

Collective pinning of the vortex lattice by columnar defects in layered superconductors

open access: yes, 2004
The mixed phase of layered superconductors with no magnetic screening is studied through a partial duality analysis of the corresponding frustrated XY model in the presence of random columnar pins.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Weak interlayers in flexible and semi-flexible road pavements: Part 1

open access: yesJournal of the South African Institution of Civil Engineers, 2012
Weak layers, interlayers, laminations and/or interfaces in the upper structural layers of road pavements are specifically prohibited in most road-building specifications.

Crystal structure of 1-methyl-2-[(E)-2-(4-methylphenyl)ethenyl]-4-nitro-1H-imidazole

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2014
In the title molecule, C13H13N3O2, the planes of the benzene and imidazole rings form a dihedral angle of 7.72 (5)°. In the crystal, molecules are linked by weak C—H...N and C—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to (100).

Dynamic Response Characteristics and Failure Mechanism of Coal Slopes with Weak Intercalated Layers under Blasting Loads

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
Rock slopes with weak intercalated layers could experience disturbance from various deep mining activities; however, their dynamic stability has not been thoroughly investigated.

Weakly Coupled Motion of Individual Layers in Ferromagnetic Resonance

open access: yes, 2006
We demonstrate a layer- and time-resolved measurement of ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) in a Ni81Fe19 / Cu / Co93Zr7 trilayer structure. Time-resolved x-ray magnetic circular dichroism has been developed in transmission, with resonant field excitation at ...

Multicolor Layer-by-Layer films using weak polyelectrolyte assisted synthesis of silver nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2013
In the present study, we show that silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with different shape, aggregation state and color (violet, green, orange) have been successfully incorporated into polyelectrolyte multilayer thin films using the layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
