Erythropoietin modulates hepatic inflammation, glucose homeostasis, and soluble epoxide hydrolase and epoxides in high‐fat diet‐induced obese mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...

Complete convergence of weighted sums for arrays of rowwise $\varphi $-mixing random variables

open access: yes, 2014
summary:In this paper, we establish the complete convergence and complete moment convergence of weighted sums for arrays of rowwise $\varphi $-mixing random variables, and the Baum-Katz-type result for arrays of rowwise $\varphi $-mixing random variables.

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

On the use of weighted sums in the definition of measures

open access: yes, 2010
A number of measures have been defined in ESE by using weighted sums. For instance, several widely used functionality measures and quality models are defined by using weighted sums.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Complete convergence for weighted sums of random variables

open access: yes
We obtain new complete convergence results for weighted sums of independent random variables. As a corollary, we obtain a result on the rate of convergence of moving average processes.

On Alternating Weighted Binomıal Sums With Falling Factorıals

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, by inspiring from earlier recent works on weighted binomial sums, we introduce and compute new kinds of binomial sums including rising factorial of the summation ...

Stochastic Comparisons of Weighted Sums of Arrangement Increasing Random Variables

open access: yes, 2015
Assuming that the joint density of random variables X1,X2, . . . ,Xn is arrangement increasing (AI), we obtain some stochastic comparison results on weighted sums of Xi’s under some additional conditions.

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.
