Wet granulation: the effect of shear on granule properties [PDF]

open access: yesPowder Technology, 2003
This paper presents a study of the wet granulation of fine cosmetic particles using a high-shear mixer granulator on a given particle and binder system. The shear effect on granule properties is highlighted. The granules formed under different impeller speeds are divided into size classes and further examined in terms of porosity, friability and binder

Wet granulation multiscale modelling accelerated via CG-DEM [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Wet agglomeration is a complex particulate process driven by multiple microscale mechanisms. Discrete Element Modeling (DEM) enables a deeper understanding of these mechanisms and supports process optimization.

Four‐Point Bending Tests at High Temperatures on Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks with and Without Recyclate Considering Different Carbon Contents

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

Enhancing dissolution of artesunate from immediate release tablets using a green granulation technique

open access: yesArchives of Pharmaceutical Sciences Ain Shams University, 2019
Artesunate is a poorly soluble drug and liable to aqueous hydrolysis. This study aims to formulate Artesunate as an immediate release tablet through optimization of the melt granulation technique to improve the dissolution of the drug.

Characterization of a Recyclate‐Based MgO‐Steel Composite As‐Sintered Inert Anode Candidate After Exposure to Cryolite Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon‐free inert anodes are essential for decarbonizing aluminum electrolysis. This study investigates a recyclate‐based MgO‐316L steel composite anode tested under galvanostatic Hall–Héroult conditions in cryolite at 1000°C. Microstructural analysis reveals selective MgO fluorination, spinel and oxide layer formation, electrolyte infiltration, and ...

Enhancing the Poor Flow and Tableting Problems of High Drug-Loading Formulation of Canagliflozin Using Continuous Green Granulation Process and Design-of-Experiment Approach

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2020
Maximization of drug-loading can significantly reduce the size of dosage form and consequently decrease the cost of manufacture. In this research, two challenges were addressed: poor flow and tableting problems of high-drug loading (>70%) formulation of ...

Rapid Sintering of Porous Organic Polymer Powders Into Mechanically Strong Monoliths for Efficient CO2 Capture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Spark plasma sintering enables rapid processing of porous organic polymer (POP) from fine powders to a freestanding and mechanically robust monolith. The sintering process retains the CO2 adsorption capacity and CO2/N2 selectivity, making the monolith more suitable as a solid sorbent for practical carbon capture applications.
