AARS2‐SIRT5‐Driven DLD K445 Lactylation Promotes Cuproptosis Resistance in Glioblastoma Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactylation of DLD at K445 by AARS2 suppresses PDH complex activity and reduces DLAT lipoylation, thereby conferring cuproptosis resistance in glioblastoma stem cells. SIRT5‐mediated delactylation restores PDH function and enhances cuproptosis sensitivity.

A Case of Brain Metastases from Breast Cancer Treated with Whole-Brain Radiotherapy and Eribulin Mesylate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Patients with triple receptor-negative breast cancer often develop aggressive metastatic disease, which also might involve the brain. In many cases, systemic and local treatment is needed.

Low‐Density Lipoprotein Receptor‐Targeted Biomimetic Nanoplatform Suppresses Glioblastoma Stemness and Remodels Antitumor Immunity via Dual Metabolic Disruption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐oriented biomimetic nanoplatform couples brain‐tumor delivery with a mechanistically matched regorafenib‐erythrodiol combination. Concurrent disruption of autophagic nutrient salvage and cholesterol homeostasis collapses bioenergetic and signaling support, suppresses glioblastoma stemness, and promotes immunogenic ...

Methods and results of locoregional treatment of brain metastases in patients with non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yesContemporary Oncology, 2016
This article presents methods and results of surgery and radiotherapy of brain metastases from non-small cell lung cancer (BMF-NSCLC). Patients with single BMF-NSCLC, with Karnofsky score ≥ 70 and controlled extracranial disease are the best candidates ...

Concurrent Germline RB1 & Mosaic TP53 in a Child With Multiple Childhood Cancers

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We report a patient with a pathogenic germline variant (PGV) in RB1 and somatic mosaicism for a pathogenic TP53 variant who developed three distinct types of childhood cancer: retinoblastoma, osteosarcoma, and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) before the age of 6 years.

Neurocognitive function impairment after whole brain radiotherapy for brain metastases: actual assessment

open access: yesRadiation Oncology, 2012
Whole brain radiation therapy (WBRT) is an effective treatment in brain metastases and, when combined with local treatments such as surgery and stereotactic radiosurgery, gives the best brain control.

North American Delphi Consensus Study on Sinonasal Malignancy Survivorship Care

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survival for patients with sinonasal cancers has improved over the past decades, but there are no dedicated survivorship guidelines for this cohort. Objective To understand experts’ priorities and perspectives on key survivorship tenets (surveillance, second tumor screening, toxicity, and symptom management).

Proton beam therapy in paediatric cancer: Anticipating the opening of the Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research

open access: yesJournal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology, EarlyView., 2023
Summary Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) has the potential to improve paediatric cancer care by reducing radiation exposure and thus long‐term toxicities. Ethical concerns and debates surrounding the treatment, such as eligibility and accessibility, are ongoing in Australia. The Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research (ABCPTR) (named after Sir

Salvage definitive or hypofractionated radiotherapy for oligometastatic recurrence after durvalumab consolidation in limited-stage small-cell lung cancer: a two-case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
The ADRIATIC trial demonstrated that consolidation durvalumab after concurrent chemoradiotherapy (cCRT) improves progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in limited-stage small cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC), establishing a new standard of ...
