A flight investigation of the wake turbulence alleviation resulting from a flap configuration change on a B-747 aircraft [PDF]
A flight test investigation was conducted to evaluate the effects of a flap configuration change on the vortex wake characteristics of a Boeing 747 (B-747) aircraft as measured by differences in upset response resulting from deliberate vortex encounters ...

Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Wind-structure interaction simulations for the prediction of ovalling vibrations in silo groups [PDF]
Wind-induced ovalling vibrations were observed during a storm in October 2002 on several empty silos of a closely spaced group consisting of 8 by 5 thin-walled silos in the port of Antwerp (Belgium).

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

Currently, extreme response analysis of tower–line systems typically assumes each component response follows a stationary Gaussian process. However, actual structural responses often exhibit significant non-Gaussian characteristics, potentially ...

Some Applications of Detailed Wind Profile Data to Launch Vehicle Response Problems [PDF]
The response of a launch vehicle to a number of detailed wind profiles has been determined. The wind profiles were measured by two techniques which are briefly described. One of these techniques uses an angle-of-attack sensor in conjunction with guidance
