Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

La circulation des matières précieuses et les grandes voies commerciales au Proche-Orient du Néolithique au 2e millénaire avant notre ère

open access: yesCahiers d’histoire, 2021
The western part of what would later become the Silk Roads was very early traded for products over long distances. Thus, from the pre-ceramic Neolithic around 9000 BC, obsidian traveled throughout the Middle East for hundreds of kilometers.

Ultra‐High‐Throughput Discovery of Multifunctional Polyphenolic Coatings on Droplet Microarrays

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An ultra‐high‐throughput (UHT) combinatorial strategy enables the miniaturized synthesis and screening of ≈30 000 polyamine‐polyphenolic (PaPp) coatings using droplet microarrays (DMA). This approach reveals hundreds of previously unknown fluorescent, redox‐active, and antibacterial materials, including multifunctional, cell‐compatible surfaces ...

Wine tourism and COVID-19: impacts and responses from the perspective of wine route’s wineries

open access: yesENLIGHTENING TOURISM. A PATHMAKING JOURNAL, 2023
Wine tourism is a subsector of gastronomic tourism that, according to the World Tourism Organisation, has been increasingly in demand among visitors worldwide. The Serranía de Ronda has an outstanding wine-growing tradition, but the region has had to deal with one of the most significant challenges in recent times: the coronavirus disease-19 pandemic ...

Cyclodextrin‐Functionalized Light‐Driven Cu2O Micromotors for Simultaneous Capture and Degradation of Bisphenol A

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Fuel‐free Cu2O‐based micromotors functionalized with β‐cyclodextrin actively remove bisphenol A from water under visible light. The cyclodextrin shell captures BPA and enhances micromotor motility, leading to faster degradation and higher overall removal than nonfunctionalized Cu2O and Cu2O@Au.

Tourism development in Macedonia: Evaluation of the Wine route region [PDF]

open access: yesEkonomika, 2015
The paper evaluates the current status of tourism development in the Wine route region in Macedonia. It analyses the major problems and obstacles that prevent further tourism expansion of this region by pointing to weaknesses that need to be addressed. The main accent is put on the necessity for reformulating the strategy for change. A field survey was
