On the Mechanics of Wire Drawing
Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1961Split-die technique was adopted to find the coefficient of friction in wire drawing directly from experiment. Simple dynamometers with wire resistance strain gages were used for measuring separating force and drawing force instead of cumbersome equipment used by former researchers. Reasonably good results were obtained.

Machine for the Hydrostatic Extrusion–Drawing of Wire
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, 1972Research work on hydrostatic extrusion at N.E.L. (National Engineering Laboratory) has led to the development of a new process for producing wire. A detailed account is given of machines specially designed to exploit this process of hydrostatic extrusion–drawing mainly on the production of fine copper wire.
