Alternative Wnt Pathways and Receptors [PDF]

open access: yesCold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Biology, 2012
In addition to activating β-catenin/TCF transcriptional complexes, Wnt proteins can elicit a variety of other responses. These are often lumped together under the denominator "alternative" or "non-canonical" Wnt signaling, but they likely comprise distinct signaling events.

Wnt Signaling in Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Biological Mechanisms and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesCells
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), characterized by significant morbidity and mortality rates, poses a substantial threat to human health. The expression of ligands and receptors within the classical and non-classical Wnt signaling pathways plays an ...

Modulation of Inflammatory Responses by Wnt/β-catenin Signaling in Dendritic cells: A Novel Immunotherapy target for auto-immunity and Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2016
The Wnt/β-catenin pathway is an evolutionarily conserved signaling pathway critical for several biological processes. An aberrant Wnt/β-catenin signaling is linked to several human diseases.

Human naive CD8 T cells down-regulate expression of the WNT pathway transcription factors lymphoid enhancer binding factor 1 and transcription factor 7 (T cell factor-1) following antigen encounter in vitro and in vivo [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The transcription factors lymphoid enhancer binding factor 1 (LEF1) and transcription factor 7 (TCF7) (T cell factor-1 (TCF-1)) are downstream effectors of the WNT signaling pathway, which is a critical regulator of T cell development in the thymus.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in lung cancer

open access: yesMedicine in Drug Discovery, 2022
The Wnt signaling pathway regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, genetic stability, and apoptosis in almost all tissues and organs. It plays a crucial role in the normal development of embryos and the dynamic balance of adult tissues ...

Stime di emissioni di inquinanti provenienti da sorgenti di traffico nell’area veneziana. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Purpose: Wnt signalling has been implicated in breast cancer, and in particular aberrant β-catenin-independent Wnt signalling has been associated with breast cancer metastasis and Tamoxifen resistance.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

The Research Progress about Wnt Pathway of Lung Cancer Stem Cells

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2011
Being the most critical signaling molecule in the Wnt pathway, the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway plays an important role in the maintenance of the cell proliferation and clone formation of lung cancer stem cells.

Porcine Circovirus-Like Virus P1 Inhibits Wnt Signaling Pathway in Vivo and in Vitro

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2018
Porcine circovirus-like virus P1 is an important pathogen of the current pig industry, the infection mechanism is not entirely clear. Wnt signaling pathway plays an important role in the growth of young animals and infection of some viruses.
