Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Increased Blood Levels of NfL, GFAP, and Placental Growth Factor After Radiotherapy to the Brain
ABSTRACT In this study, we analyzed biomarkers of neuronal, glial, and vascular injury in longitudinal paired samples of blood and cerebrospinal fluid after prophylactic cranial irradiation in patients with small cell lung cancer. Neurofilament light chain protein (NfL) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) increased in serum and cerebrospinal ...

Monitoring the X-Ray Variability of Bright X-Ray Sources in M33
We present a new five-epoch Chandra X-ray Observatory monitoring survey of the nearby spiral galaxy M33 which probes X-ray variability with time sampling between two weeks and four months.

IGR J16328−4726: A NEW CANDIDATE SUPERGIANT FAST X-RAY TRANSIENT [PDF]
The unidentified source IGR J16328−4726 was covered with INTEGRAL observations for a long period (∼9.8 Ms) and was undetectable for most of the time while showing a very recurrent micro-activity with a duration from tens of minutes to several hours.

Transient X-ray sources in the galactic plane
Uhuru observations of the galactic plane indicate the presence of four X-ray sources not previously characterized as transient: MX 0836-42, A1918+14, 4U 1730-22, and 4U 1807-10. X-ray light curves as well as positional and spectral information are presented for these sources and for 4U 1908+00, a recurrent transient source. The frequency, duration, and

Laser Metal Deposited Ti4822 Hollow Pipe: Experimental and Computational Modelling Study
Laser metal deposition (LMD) of a crack‐free built Ti4822 alloys is challenging. This article reports outstanding characteristics of a hollow pipe that is built with LMD technology when a predicted, nontransformation substrate temperature of 800 °C is used.

Reflection and Timing Study of the Transient Black Hole X-Ray Binary MAXI J1803-298 with NuSTAR
The transient black hole X-ray binary MAXI J1803−298 was discovered on 2021 May 1, as it went into outburst from a quiescent state. As the source rose in flux it showed periodic absorption dips and fit the timing and spectral characteristics of a hard ...

IGR J16479–4514: the first eclipsing supergiant fast X-ray transient? [PDF]
Supergiant fast X-ray transients (SFXTs) are a new class of high-mass X-ray binaries recently discovered with INTEGRAL. Hours-long outbursts from these sources have been observed on numerous occasions at luminosities of ∼10 36 –10 37 erg s −1 , whereas ...
