Monitoring the X-Ray Variability of Bright X-Ray Sources in M33
We present a new five-epoch Chandra X-ray Observatory monitoring survey of the nearby spiral galaxy M33 which probes X-ray variability with time sampling between two weeks and four months.

INTEGRAL Long-Term Monitoring of the Supergiant Fast X-Ray Transient XTE J1739-302 [PDF]
Context. In the past few years, a new class of High Mass X-Ray Binaries (HMXRB) has been claimed to exist, the Supergiant Fast X-ray Transients (SFXT).

We present multiband observations and analysis of EP240801a, a low-energy, extremely soft gamma-ray burst (GRB) discovered on 2024 August 1 by the Einstein Probe (EP) satellite with a weak contemporaneous signal also detected by the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst

Suzaku Observations of Four Heavily Absorbed HMXBs
We report on Suzaku observations of four unidentified sources from the INTEGRAL and Swift BAT Galactic plane surveys. All the sources have a large neutral hydrogen column density and are likely members of an emerging class of heavily absorbed high mass X-

Chandra observations of five X-ray transient galactic nuclei [PDF]
We report on exploratory Chandra observations of five galactic nuclei that were found to be X-ray bright during the ROSAT All-Sky Survey (with L X >∼ 10 43 erg s -1 ) but subsequently exhibited a dramatic decline in X-ray luminosity. Very little is known

A Different Perspective on the Solid Lubrication Performance of Black Phosphorus: Friend or Foe?
Researchers investigate black phosphorus (BP) as a standalone solid lubricant coating through ball‐on‐disc linear‐reciprocating sliding experiments in dry conditions. Testing on different metals shows BP doesn't universally reduce friction and wear. However, it achieves 33% friction reduction on rougher iron surfaces and 23% wear reduction on aluminum.

Machine Learning Applied to High Entropy Alloys under Irradiation
Designing alloys for extreme environments demands fast, trustworthy prediction. This review charts how machine learning—especially machine‐learned interatomic potentials and predictive models based on experiment‐informed datasets—captures the complexity of high‐entropy alloys in extreme environments, predicts phase formation, mechanical properties, and

The Radio Counterpart to the Fast X-Ray Transient EP240414a
Despite being operational for only a short time, the Einstein Probe mission, with its large field of view and rapid localization capabilities, has already significantly advanced the study of rapid variability in the soft X-ray sky.
