Structural and electronic properties of xanthohumol metabolite

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 2002
The structural and electronic properties of xanthohumol metabolite (M2) have been investigated theoretically by performing semi-empirical molecular orbital theory at the level of MNDO/3 calculations. The optimized structure and the electronic properties of the isolated molecule are obtained.

A click chemistry approach identifies target proteins of xanthohumol

Molecular Nutrition & Food Research, 2016
ScopeMany phytochemicals with beneficial pharmacological properties contain electrophilic sites, e.g. α,β‐unsaturated carbonyl (enone) groups. There is increasing evidence that many biological effects of electrophilic compounds depend on covalent conjugation to reactive protein thiols.

Xanthohumol inflammatory factor production and angiogenesis are inhibited by xanthohumol in breast cancer xenografts.

2008
Xanthohumol (XN), a natural polyphenol present in beer, is known to exert anti-cancer effects. However, its precise mechanisms are not yet clearly defined. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of oral administration of XN in breast cancer xenografts in nude mice. Proliferation and apoptosis were first examined in MCF7 cell cultures after

On The Synthesis of Xanthohumol and Isoxanthohumol

Bulletin des Sociétés Chimiques Belges, 1961
AbstractThe structure of xanthohumol, a chalcone present in hops and isoxanthohumol, the corresponding flavanone, proved by us in previous papers are confirmed by further investigation.

EFFECT OF XANTHOHUMOL ON BREWING YEAST CELLS

Acta horticulturae, 2013
Xanthohumol, a prenylated chalcone from hops and beer, is a phenolic compound that has received considerable attention in recent years. This compound has a range of interesting biological properties that may have therapeutic utility: anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antilipoperoxidative activities as well as antiangiogenic, antiproliferative and ...
