Structural and electronic properties of xanthohumol metabolite
Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 2002The structural and electronic properties of xanthohumol metabolite (M2) have been investigated theoretically by performing semi-empirical molecular orbital theory at the level of MNDO/3 calculations. The optimized structure and the electronic properties of the isolated molecule are obtained.

A click chemistry approach identifies target proteins of xanthohumol
Molecular Nutrition & Food Research, 2016ScopeMany phytochemicals with beneficial pharmacological properties contain electrophilic sites, e.g. α,β‐unsaturated carbonyl (enone) groups. There is increasing evidence that many biological effects of electrophilic compounds depend on covalent conjugation to reactive protein thiols.

Xanthohumol (XN), a natural polyphenol present in beer, is known to exert anti-cancer effects. However, its precise mechanisms are not yet clearly defined. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of oral administration of XN in breast cancer xenografts in nude mice. Proliferation and apoptosis were first examined in MCF7 cell cultures after

EFFECT OF XANTHOHUMOL ON BREWING YEAST CELLS
Acta horticulturae, 2013Xanthohumol, a prenylated chalcone from hops and beer, is a phenolic compound that has received considerable attention in recent years. This compound has a range of interesting biological properties that may have therapeutic utility: anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antilipoperoxidative activities as well as antiangiogenic, antiproliferative and ...
