Complete Genome Sequence of Strain WHRI 3811 Race 1 of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris, the Causal Agent of Black Rot of Cruciferous Vegetables

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2019
Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris is an important bacterial pathogen that causes black rot and brings about enormous production loss for cruciferous vegetables worldwide. Currently, genome sequences for only a few X. campestris pv.

An MLSA-based online scheme for the rapid identification of Stenotrophomonas isolates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
An online scheme to assign Stenotrophomonas isolates to genomic groups was developed using the multilocus sequence analysis (MLSA), which is based on the DNA sequencing of selected fragments of the housekeeping genes ATP synthase alpha subunit (atpA ...

Isolation and identification of bacteria isolated from cabbage seeds in the Ulyanovsk region [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences, 2023
Bacteriosis caused by the bacterium Xanthomonas campestris is considered one of the most dangerous for cultivated plants. The problem is particularly sharp during favorable agricultural seasons for the development of pathogens.

Inhibition of Xanthomonas fragariae, Causative Agent of Angular Leaf Spot of Strawberry, through Iron Deprivation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In commercial production settings, few options exist to prevent or treat angular leaf spot (ALS) of strawberry, a disease of economic importance and caused by the bacterial pathogen Xanthomonas fragariae.

Cruciferous Weed Isolates of Xanthomonas campestris Yield Insight into Pathovar Genomic Relationships and Genetic Determinants of Host and Tissue Specificity

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2022
Pathovars of Xanthomonas campestris cause distinct diseases on different brassicaceous hosts. The genomic relationships among pathovars as well as the genetic determinants of host range and tissue specificity remain poorly understood despite decades of ...

Extracellular proteases from Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris, the black rot pathogen [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology, 1990
Two proteases (PRT1 and PRT2) were fractionated from culture supernatants of wild-type Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris by cation-exchange chromatography on SP-5PW. Inhibitor experiments showed that PRT 1 was a serine protease which required calcium ions for activity or stability or both and that PRT 2 was a zinc-requiring metalloprotease.

Characterization of the hrpF Pathogenicity Peninsula of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2005
The hrp gene cluster of Xanthomonas spp. contains genes for the assembly and function of a type III secretion system (TTSS). The hrpF genes reside in a region between hpaB and the right end of the hrp cluster.
