Effect of two species of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi inoculation on development of micro-propagated yam plantlets and suppression of Scutellonema bradys (Tylenchideae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Using two commercially available arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal (AMF) products, one based on Funneliformis mosseae and the other on Glomus dussii, an experiment was conducted to assess their effect on yam growth and ability to suppress nematode damage ...

Biodegradable Coatings with Essential Oils for Combating Papaya Anthracnose: State of the Art and Perspectives

open access: yesFood Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Papaya (Carica papaya L.) production and marketability are strongly constrained by postharvest diseases, with anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum spp. representing the most significant threat. Traditional control relies on synthetic fungicides, which, although effective, face challenges such as the development of pathogen resistance ...

Chemical Composition, Amino Acids, Phenolic Profiles and Bioavailability of Minerals in Livingstone Potato (Plectranthus esculentus) as Affected by Different Processing Techniques

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Boiling retained the nutrients and polyphenol compounds in Plectranthus esculentus tubers better than frying or roasting. A bioavailability study showed that the phytates and oxalates in the tuber may not affect the bioavailabilities of calcium, zinc, or iron in Plectranthus esculentus tubers when eaten.

Development of a Highly Sensitive Time‐Resolved Fluorescence Immunochromatographic Assay for Rapid Onsite Determination of Prometryn Residues in Food Samples

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
The recombinant full‐length antibody against prometryn (PRO‐rAb) was prepared by HEK293 (F) cell expression system and utilized as the foundation for time‐resolved fluorescence immunochromatographic assay (TRFICA). The established method showed good performance for the detection of prometryn residues in five food samples. ABSTRACT Prometryn, a triazine

Does AI at Work Increase Stress? Text Mining Social Media About Human–AI Team Processes and AI Control

open access: yesJournal of Organizational Behavior, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With rising use of artificial intelligence (AI) in organizations, alongside increasing mental health issues, we seek to understand how AI use affects human stress. Drawing on the automation–augmentation perspective, we propose that AI control over decision‐making thwarts human autonomy and thus contributes to stress.
