Command-Filtered Yaw Stability Control of Vehicles with State Constraints

open access: yesActuators
Yaw stability control is crucial for ensuring the driving safety of intelligent vehicles. This paper proposes a state-constrained command-filtered control (CFC) approach for vehicle yaw stability.

Magneto‐responsive fibers and fabrics for soft systems

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
Abstract The combination of functional materials in fiber form has led to a surge in the integration of functional fibers and fabrics into soft systems that span sensing, communication, and actuation domains. A key subset is magnetic fibers and fabrics.

Research on Yaw Stability Control for Distributed-Drive Pure Electric Pickup Trucks

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
To address the issue of poor yaw stability in distributed-drive electric pickup trucks at medium-to-high speeds, particularly under the influence of continuously varying tire forces and road adhesion coefficients, a novel Kalman filter-based method for ...

Plastic luminescence in mechanoluminescent composites

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
Through compression tests and numerical simulations, this study demonstrates that the luminescence of a mechanoluminescent (ML) composite is strongly associated with plastic strain, thereby providing new insight into deformation‐induced luminescence during the plastic stage.

Integrating Vehicle Slip and Yaw in Overarching Multi-Tiered Vehicle Steering Control to Balance Path Following Accuracy, Gracefulness, and Safety

open access: yesActuators
Balancing path-following accuracy and error convergence with graceful motion in steering control is challenging due to the competing nature of these requirements, especially across a range of operating speeds and conditions.

Do Linking‐Expression Substitutions Mitigate Deterministic Interpretations of Genetic Information?

open access: yesJournal of Applied Philosophy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT It is a common concern that broader audiences interpret scientific information about the genetic correlates and causes of complex human traits in an overly deterministic manner. A frequently proposed way to address this issue is to carefully select the linking expressions used to describe gene–trait relationships when communicating genetic ...

Approximate Reachability for Feedback Linearizable Systems

open access: yesOptimal Control Applications and Methods, EarlyView.
The backwards reachable set for a dynamical system is the set of states for which there exists a constraint admissible trajectory that reaches a given terminal set. Conventional grid‐based approaches for computing these sets are intractable for many applications.

A Hybrid Model for Vehicle Sideslip Angle Estimation Based on Attention Regression

open access: yesIEEE Access
Vehicle Active Control Systems (ACS) have been developed to advance driver convenience and safety. These systems require accurate vehicle states such as lateral and longitudinal acceleration, sideslip angle, and yaw rate.
