Y-box Binding Protein-1 Is Part of a Complex Molecular Network Linking ΔNp63α to the PI3K/akt Pathway in Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs) typically lack somatic oncogene-activating mutations and most of them contain p53 mutations. However, the presence of p53 mutations in skin premalignant lesions suggests that these represent early events during ...

Targeting MCL‐1 and MAPK overcomes venetoclax resistance in FLT3‐ITD‐positive AML cells harbouring activating PTPN11 (SHP‐2) mutations

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, Volume 208, Issue 3, Page 905-915, March 2026.
Summary Venetoclax (VEN)‐based therapies have improved the treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML); however, the emergence of resistance remains a major limitation. Mutations in protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) non‐receptor type 11 (PTPN11) and FMS like tyrosine kinase 3 with internal tandem duplication (FLT3‐ITD) are common in resistant patients ...

A Patient‐Derived Organoid Biobank of Adamantinomatous Craniopharyngioma as a Platform for Drug Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
This study successfully establishes adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma (ACP) patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) that preserve the histopathological and genetic features of the original tumors. Through drug sensitivity assays and subsequent mechanistic analyses, the study demonstrates that Ceritinib exerts its inhibitory effects on ACP PDO growth by ...

YBX1-driven TUBB6 upregulation facilitates ocular angiogenesis via WNT3A-FZD8 pathway

open access: yesTheranostics
Background: Pathological ocular neovascularization, a characteristic feature of proliferative ocular diseases, is a primary contributor to global vision impairment. The dynamics of tubulin are crucial in maintaining ocular homeostasis, closely linked to cellular proliferation and angiogenesis.

JMJD6 and YBX1 physically interact and regulate HOTAIR proximal promoter. [PDF]

open access: yesBiochem J
AbstractIn a previous study, we showed JMJD6 interacted with HOTAIR promoter (−123 to -103 bp upstream of TSS, JIR) and augmented its transcription. Maximal JMJD6 mediated induction required (−216 to -123 bp) region. In silicoprediction and ENCODE data suggested that YBX1 could be that potential candidate and in this study the region is designated as ...

MINTbase v2.0: a comprehensive database for tRNA-derived fragments that includes nuclear and mitochondrial fragments from all The Cancer Genome Atlas projects. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
MINTbase is a repository that comprises nuclear and mitochondrial tRNA-derived fragments (\u27tRFs\u27) found in multiple human tissues. The original version of MINTbase comprised tRFs obtained from 768 transcriptomic datasets.

An assessment of candidate genes to assist prognosis in gastric cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Gastric cancer (GC) is the fourth commonest cancer worldwide, with the second highest mortality rate. Its poor mortality is linked to delayed presentation.

Positive Feedback Loop of Histone Lactylation‐Driven HNRNPC Promotes Autophagy to Confer Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Gemcitabine Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
Histone 3 lysine18 lactylation (H3K18la) drives heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein C (HNRNPC) overexpression, activating autophagy to mediate gemcitabine resistance by stabilizing TNF receptor‐associated factor 6 (TRAF6) mRNA. Concurrently, HNRNPC stabilizes aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family member A3 (ALDH1A3) mRNA, which enhances glycolysis and ...

Not only P-glycoprotein: amplification of the ABCB1-containing chromosome region 7q21 confers multidrug resistance upon cancer cells by coordinated overexpression of an assortment of resistance-related proteins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The development of drug resistance continues to be a dominant hindrance toward curative cancer treatment. Overexpression of a wide-spectrum of ATP-dependent efflux pumps, and in particular of ABCB1 (P-glycoprotein or MDR1) is a well-known resistance ...

5′tRF‐GlyGCC Promotes Breast Cancer Progression via LDHA‐Mediated Glycolysis and Macrophage Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 9, 13 February 2026.
5’tRF‐GlyGCC promotes breast cancer malignancy by binding to LDHA. This interaction, facilitated by FGFR1 and LDHA phosphorylation, enhances glycolysis. Additionally, 5’tRF‐GlyGCC/LDHA signaling recruits and polarizes macrophages into a pro‐tumor M2 state via CCL7, thus remodeling the tumor microenvironment.
