Expanding Genetic Code to Generate Human Brain Organoids with Both Vasculature and Microglia‐Like Cells

Using genetic code expansion, we engineered vascularized human cerebral organoids (vhCOs) with microglia‐like cells and blood‐brain barrier features. vhCOs recapitulate neurovascular interactions, regional identities, and neuronal subtypes resembling the fetal brain.

Lyssavirus Nucleoprotein Induces GPAT4‐Mediated CYB5R1 Depalmitoylation to Suppress Ferroptosis and Promote Viral Replication

Lipid metabolism plays a vital role in viral infections. Here, we reveal that the lyssavirus N protein regulates GPAT4 to induce lipid droplet biogenesis, restricting CYB5R1 palmitoylation and reducing ferroptosis susceptibility to ultimately promote viral replication.

Upon entering the pig, foot‐and‐mouth disease virus (FMDV) regulates host glycolysis and the citrate cycle by modulating the expression of metabolic enzymes, resulting in changes in post‐translational modifications (PTMs) including succinylation, lactylation, crotonylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation.
