The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Isolation of individual hop iso-α-acids stereoisomers by β-cyclodextrin. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Individual iso-α-acids that are responsible for the bitter taste of beer need to be isolated because these acids are required as reference standards in quantitative analysis and when studying the parameters which effect the quality of beer.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

The effects of hops (Humulus lupulus L.) and silymarin on performance and health of newly weaned pigs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The ban of antimicrobial growth promoters in pig production has resulted in an increased interest in investigating the effects of different alternatives, which can reduce the problems post weaning and improve the performance in piglets.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.
