Sesquiterpene‐Rich Essential Oil From Magnolia officinalis Stem Bark: Chemical Composition, Biological Activities, and In Silico Approach

The essential oil from Magnolia officinalis (M. officinalis) stem bark, rich in sesquiterpenes, exhibited multiple bioactivities including cytotoxic, antioxidant, α‐glucosidase inhibitory, anti‐inflammatory, and antimicrobial effects, which were further supported by molecular docking analysis.

Constituents From the Flowers of Viburnum macrocephalum f. macrocephalum and Their α‐Amylase and α‐Glucosidase Inhibitory Activities

Two new cadinane‑type sesquiterpenes, viburetones A and B, were isolated from Viburnum macrocephalum flowers, marking the first cadinane skeletons in this genus. Viburetone A showed dual α‑amylase and α‑glucosidase inhibition comparable to acarbose, and docking clarified its binding.

ZnO/CuO@amoxicillin nanocomposite, synthesized via sol–gel route, demonstrates exceptional multifunctional performance. It strongly inhibits α‐amylase and α‐glucosidase, effectively suppresses inflammation, and exhibits superior antioxidant activity surpassing ascorbic acid.

First Report on the Phytochemical and Pharmacological Properties of Hedysarum yilmazunalii
