A clone coding for Schizophyllum commune beta-glucosidase: homology with a yeast beta-glucosidase.

Biochemistry international, 1986
Three identical clones coding for a partial sequence of the Schizophyllum commune beta-glucosidase were isolated from a cDNA library in lambda gt11, using polyclonal antibody to the enzyme. The identity was confirmed by comparison of the amino-terminus of a peptide from a protease lys-C digest with the sequence inferred from the cDNA sequence.

A mechanistic investigation of Agrobacterium [beta]-glucosidase

2010
The mechanism of glucoside hydrolysis by Agrobacterium β-glucosidase has been investigated through the study of linear free energy relationships and a-secondary deuterium kinetic isotope effects. A two-step mechanism has previously been proposed for this process, consisting of; (1) cleavage of the glucosidic bond and formation of a covalent glucosyl ...

Validation of Beta-Glucosidase Activity Assay in Leukocytes

2018
Gaucher disease (GD) is an autosomal recessive disorder caused by deficiency of the lysosomal hydrolase glucocerebrosidase (GBA) (EC 3.2.1.45), required for the degradation of glycosphingolipids. In Gaucher disease, as a result of GBA deficiency, the body is unable to breakdown glucocerebroside, thus allowing the accumulation of glucosylceramide and ...

beta-Glucosidase production by Trichoderma reesei.

Applied biochemistry and biotechnology, 2005
The hydrolysis of cellulose to the water-soluble products cellobiose and glucose is achieved via synergistic action of cellulolytic proteins. The three types of enzymes involved in this process are endoglucanases, cellobiohydrolases, and beta-glucosidases. One of the best fungal cellulase producers is Trichoderma reesei RUT C30.

Soluble and membranous neutral beta-glucosidases.

Progress in clinical and biological research, 1982
Three distinct forms of beta-glucosidase were separated by Bio-Gel P-150 gel filtration from the 105,000 x g supernatant of liver, placenta and fibroblasts extracted in the presence of Cutscum and sodium taurocholate. Glucosylceramide beta-glucosidase was mostly particulate (more than 80%), had an apparent molecular weight of about 67,000 and exhibited
