Beta‐Arrestin‐2 Binds to Nucleolar Organizing Regions With P2X7 Receptor Stimulation and During Cell Division

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 19, 15 October 2026.
Beta‐Arrestin‐2 but not Beta‐Arrestin‐1 can accumulate in the nucleolus and come in close contact with the Nucleolar Organizing Regions during two distinct processes: P2X7 receptor stimulation (A) and cell division (B). Both seem to be due to loss of nuclear membrane barrier that keeps Beta‐arrestin‐2 out of the nucleus.

Von In‐Silico bis In‐Cerebro – Entwicklung des Orexinrezeptor Antagonisten „Photorexant“ zur Photomodulation In Vitro und im Gehirn der Maus

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 42, 12 October 2026.

Helix-bundle and C-terminal GPCR domains differentially influence GRK-specific functions and β-arrestin-mediated regulation

open access: yesNature Communications
G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) orchestrate diverse physiological responses via signaling through G proteins, GPCR kinases (GRKs), and arrestins.

In Silico to In Cerebro—Development of the Orexin Receptor Antagonist “Photorexant” for Photomodulation In Vitro and in Mouse Brains

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 65, Issue 42, 12 October 2026.
Following a structure‐based design approach, photoswitchable derivatives of the FDA‐approved drug suvorexant were designed, docked, synthesized, and characterized pharmacologically at the orexin 1 and 2 receptors (OX1R and OX2R). Optimized “photorexant” showed up to an 11‐fold difference in IC50 between photoisomers, enabled dynamic and reversible ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 600, Issue 19, Page 2876-2898, October 2026.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Emerging paradigms of β-arrestin-dependent seven transmembrane receptor signaling

open access: yes, 2011
β-arrestins, originally discovered to desensitize activated seven transmembrane receptors (7TMRs; also known as G protein-coupled receptors [GPCRs]), are now well established mediators of receptor endocytosis, ubiquitylation and G protein-independent ...

Ciliary Membrane Lipid Homeostasis in Health and Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 58, 19 October 2026.
This review systematically delineates the distinct lipid landscapes of ciliary membranes, including the spatial organization of phosphoinositides, cholesterol, and sphingolipids. It elucidates how these lipids orchestrate ciliogenesis, signal transduction, and membrane dynamics in cilia beating, and highlights how their dysregulation drives ...

Arrestins: multifunctional regulators of signaling pathways

open access: yes, 2019
The four vertebrate arrestins comprise a family of proteins that are responsible for the desensitization and internalization of over 800 subtypes of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). The arrestins also serve as independent signal transducers in both a
