Urban ants as potential mechanical vectors of pathogenic and antibiotic‐resistant bacteria in a Brazilian hospital

Nine ant taxa were identified in a Brazilian hospital, with Tapinoma melanocephalum and Dorymyrmex brunneus being the most abundant. Eighty‐five percent of collected ants yielded detectable bacterial growth, including clinically relevant genera such as Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas, Escherichia coli and Pluralibacter.

Putative cutaneous adverse drug reactions in two dogs

Summary We describe two cases of cutaneous adverse drug reactions (CADR) in dogs. Case 1 presented with erythematous macules with sharply demarcated margins on the abdomen and inguinal area and depigmentation on the lip. Skin lesions appeared after 3 weeks of administration of anti‐epileptic drugs, including phenobarbital.
