Asymmetric Activation of Tropos Biphenolic Moieties by Isohexides: An Integrated Computational‐Experimental Approach

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The integrated experimental‐computational study on the asymmetric activation exerted by isohexides on tropos tetra‐aryl moieties embedded in a chiral macrocyclic architecture resulted in a complete definition of the stereochemical as well as stereodynamic features of the macrocyclic final compounds.

Alkali Metal Mediated Redox Tuning in Bis(μ‐OH) Dinickel(II) Complexes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Alkali metal ions are ubiquitous in both enzymatic and synthetic catalytic media. The present study highlights the powerful influence common monocations have on the structural and electrochemical properties of catalytically relevant bis(μ‐hydroxo) dinickel diamond cores, through a well‐defined series of heterometallic clusters (Li+, Na+, K+, and Cs ...

Selective Formation of a 1,2‐Diborane(4) and Alcohol‐Driven B─B Bond Cleavage to Generate H2

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Diborane(4) chemistry reveals unusual reactivity of electron‐deficient p‐block compounds. Reaction of B2Cat2 (Cat = benzene‐1,2‐diolate) with mesityllithium (MesLi; Mes = 2,4,6‐trimethylphenyl) gives a rare 1,2‐diborane(4) featuring a catecholate ligand. Alcoholysis cleaves the B─B bond and ultimately generates H2.

The effects of 1α, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 and transforming growth factor-β3 on bone development in an ex vivo organotypic culture system of embryonic chick femora.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Transforming growth factor-beta3 (TGF-β3) and 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1α,25 (OH) 2D3) are essential factors in chondrogenesis and osteogenesis respectively.

Ni–Zn–Ga Alloy for Weak Sunlight‐Driven Methanol Production From CO2 and H2O at Ambient Pressure

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
The Ni–Zn–Ga ternary alloy‐assisted photothermal CO2 hydrogenation system coupled with photovoltaic water splitting could convert CO2 and H2O into methanol with a production rate of 709 μmol g−1 h−1 under natural sunlight irradiation. ABSTRACT The sunlight‐driven artificial photosynthesis that converts CO2 and H2O into methanol is a promising approach ...

Synergistic Regulation of Hierarchical Anode Interphase and Cathode Electronic Structure by a Fe(III) Complex for High‐Performance Aqueous Zinc‐Manganese Battery

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The NGB additive can concurrently address anode and cathode issues during Zn‐Mn battery cycling by constructing a hierarchical interfacial layer on the anode surface to alleviate side reactions and modulate zinc deposition and by incorporating Fe3+ ions into the α‐MnO2 cathode to improve its structural stability and electrical conductivity.

Enhancing the Ferroelectricity of MAPbI3 via Hydroxyl Groups to Boost Photocatalytic Performance

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The hydroxyl groups in (EOA)2PbBr4 enable a rearrangement of the polar MA+ ions in MAPbI3, which enhances the Ps‐electric field and promotes the separation of photogenerated carriers. Consequently, the (EOA)2PbBr4/MAPbI3 composite exhibits the enhanced CO production yield in photocatalytic CO2 reduction reactions.

Facilitating Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Activity in Alkaline Water Electrolysis via Formation of Ni‐Co2P Heterojunction

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Ni‐Co2P synthesized via a co‐sputtering method exhibits enhanced hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity. The formation of a heterojunction between Ni and Co2P plays a crucial role in this enhancement. At the Ni‐Co2P junction, water dissociation is significantly promoted, while the Ni sites facilitate efficient hydrogen evolution.

Mesoporous Polymer for Metal Ion Adsorption and Its Calcined Product for Oxygen Reduction Reaction

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A novel emulsion‐assisted oxidative polymerization strategy is developed to synthesize mesoporous poly(diaminonaphthalene) (PDAN) with excellent Fe3+ adsorption performance, featuring uniform morphology and well‐defined mesopores. Pyrolysis of Fe‐adsorbed PDAN yields nitrogen‐doped mesoporous carbon embedded with Fe3C nanoparticles (NCs‐Fe), and the ...
