Clinical &Experimental Allergy, Volume 56, Issue 2, Page 124-136, February 2026.We found that oesophageal epithelial cells upregulate MHCII expression during active EoE in humans and a mouse model. MHCII expression by EECs was governed by IFNγ‐inducible transcriptional elements. EEC‐intrinsic MHCII promoted regulatory T cell accumulation and attenuated eosinophilic oesophageal inflammation.
