Nutrient availability modulates impacts of short‐term shifts in temperature and grazing on phytoplankton composition and size structure

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract The significant contribution of phytoplankton to global primary production is regulated by several abiotic and biotic factors, which are often difficult to account for in natural systems. To address these challenges, we perturbed a summer plankton community from Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island, USA, by manipulating the temperature and nutrient ...

Adaptively coupled phase retrieval in multi‐peak Bragg coherent diffraction imaging

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 59, Issue 1, Page 40-48, February 2026.
We present an adaptively coupled phase retrieval algorithm for multi‐peak Bragg coherent diffraction imaging. The technique uses the redundant information contained in separate Bragg peaks to detect and remove spurious signal.Recent advances in Bragg coherent diffraction imaging (BCDI) experimental techniques permit routine measurement of multiple ...

Lifespan‐Extending Endogenous Metabolites

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 2, February 2026.
Endogenous metabolites act as mediators of longevity by modulating conserved cellular pathways. We summarize mechanistic evidence linking specific metabolites to lifespan and healthspan benefits across model systems, with discussion of clinical evidence, translational opportunities, and remaining knowledge gaps.

Oesophageal Epithelial Cell‐Intrinsic MHCII Regulates Food Antigen‐Dependent Eosinophilic Esophagitis in an IFNγ‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Allergy, Volume 56, Issue 2, Page 124-136, February 2026.
We found that oesophageal epithelial cells upregulate MHCII expression during active EoE in humans and a mouse model. MHCII expression by EECs was governed by IFNγ‐inducible transcriptional elements. EEC‐intrinsic MHCII promoted regulatory T cell accumulation and attenuated eosinophilic oesophageal inflammation.

Regulation of histone deacetylase 3 by metal cations and 10-hydroxy-2E-decenoic acid: Possible epigenetic mechanisms of queen-worker bee differentiation.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Histone deacetylases (HDACs) catalyze the hydrolysis of Ɛ-acetyl-lysine residues of histones. Removal of acetyl groups results in condensation of chromatin structure and repression of gene expression.

Straightforward, Metal-free, and Stereoselective Synthesis of 9-Oxo- and 10-Hydroxy-2(E)-decenoic acids, Important Components of Honeybee (Apis mellifera) secretions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
10-Hydroxy-2E-decenoic (10-HDA) and 9-oxo-2E-decenoic (9-ODA) acids, two components identified in honeybee secretions, have both received considerable recent interest due to their involvement in caste switch and maintenance.

Co‐Design of a New Integrated Care Model With People Affected by Huntington's Disease: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesHealth Expectations, Volume 29, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background People living with neurological conditions have needs that require an integrated care approach. Existing models of integrated care have often emphasized system structures but neglected the micro‐level interactions that matter most to people.
