Association Between Bradyarrhythmia Requiring Permanent Pacemaker Implantation and Epicardial Adipose Tissue in Elderly Patients

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 2, April 2026.
We examined the association between the epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) thickness and bradyarrhythmia requiring permanent pacemaker (PM) implantation in elderly people. The EAT was significantly thicker in the PM group than in the control. The EAT may be associated with sinus node and atrioventricular node dysfunction.

Late gadolinium enhancement on cardiac magnetic resonance combined with 123I- metaiodobenzylguanidine scintigraphy strongly predicts long-term clinical outcome in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is limited in its ability to detect diffuse interstitial fibrosis, which is commonly found in idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).

Effect of Nebivolol on MIBG Parameters and Exercise in Heart Failure with Normal Ejection Fraction

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, 2016
Background: More than 50% of the patients with heart failure have normal ejection fraction (HFNEF). Iodine-123 metaiodobenzylguanidine (123I-MIBG) scintigraphy and cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) are prognostic markers in HFNEF.

Malignant Potential of Temporal Bone Paragangliomas With Reference to GAPP System

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 11, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the temporal bone paragangliomas (so‐called glomus tumors, TB‐PGLs) via the Grading System for Adrenal Pheochromocytoma and Paraganglioma (GAPP) and succinate dehydrogenase subunit B (SDHB) immunohistochemistry, and to discuss their implications for postoperative follow‐up and treatment strategies. Methods This report is

Predictive impacts of chronic kidney disease and cardiac sympathetic nervous activity on lethal arrhythmic events in chronic heart failure

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, 2022
Background The clinical implications of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and cardiac sympathetic nervous activity (CSNA) regarding lethal arrhythmic events have not yet been fully elucidated in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF).

Motor and Cognitive Outcome After Subthalamic Nucleus Deep Brain Stimulation in Patients with Parkinson's Disease Harboring GBA1 Variant

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, Volume 13, Issue 4, Page 973-984, April 2026.
Abstract Background Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is effective for Parkinson's disease (PD); however, its efficacy varies with genetic background, such as the GBA1 variant—the causative gene of Gaucher disease—associated with increased PD risk and cognitive decline after subthalamic nucleus (STN)‐DBS.

The Prognostic Value of the Results of 123I-metaiodobenzylguanidine Myocardial Scintigraphy in the Examination of Patients with Atrial Fibrillation Referred for Its Interventional Treatment

open access: yesВестник рентгенологии и радиологии, 2019
Objective. To identify the scintigraphic predictors of the efficiency of interventional treatment for atrial fibrillation (AF) by cardiac 123I-metaiodobenzylguanidine (123I-MIBG) radionuclide scanning.Material and methods.
