Effects of normal and low calcium and phosphorus levels and 25-hydroxycholecalciferol supplementation on performance, serum antioxidant status, meat quality, and bone properties of broilers

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2020
To determine the effects of normal and low dietary calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) levels and 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-OH-D3) supplementation on performance, serum antioxidant status, meat quality, and bone properties of broilers, 224 1-day-old ...

Measurement of 25-Hydroxycholecalciferol in the Bovine

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1976
Bovine plasma 25-hydroxycholecalciferol was estimated by rapid protein binding assay. Serum-binding proteins in the assay were from rats deficient in vitamin D and from normal rats; no differences existed in standard curves. Nanograms 25-hydroxycholecalciferol in eight cows averaged 45.5 +/- 12.2 ml of plasma.

Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 and 24R,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 concentrations in adult dogs are more substantially increased by oral supplementation of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 than by vitamin D3

open access: yesJournal of Nutritional Science, 2017
We previously found a weak response in serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25(OH)D3) concentrations when dogs were supplemented with oral vitamin D3 (D3). In the present study, we determined the relative potency of oral 25(OH)D3 compared with D3 for increasing ...

Prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in HIV-positive, antiretroviral treatment-naïve patients in a single centre study. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The objective of this study was to describe the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency among antiretroviral treatment-naïve, HIV-positive individuals. We reviewed records of consecutive antiretroviral treatment-naïve patients, registering for care for the ...

D-vitamin status of cattle depending on the conditions of detention and physiological state

open access: yesНауковий вісник Львівського національного університету ветеринарної медицини та біотехнологій імені С.З. Ґжицького: Серія Ветеринарні науки, 2019
The article contains data on the content of the active metabolite of vitamin D3 – 25-OHD3, the concentration of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and the activity of alkaline phosphatase in the blood of lactating cows in different periods of keeping.

The role of vitamin D deficiency in the risk for uterine fibroids relapse after laparoscopic conservative myomectomy in women of reproductive age [PDF]

open access: yesГинекология, 2019
Relevance. Due to the high prevalence of uterine fibroids in women of reproductive age and the negative impact on reproductive health, one of the priority tasks of specialists is to search not only for new therapeutic methods, but also for ways to ...

Dietary supplementation of 25‐hydroxycholecalciferol as an alternative to cholecalciferol in swine diets : A review

open access: yes, 2022
25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-OHD3) formed via hepatic hydroxylation from vitamin D, cholecalciferol, represents the precursor of the biologically active vitamin D hormone, 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D.

Evaluation of Relative Bioavailability of 25-Hydroxycholecalciferol to Cholecalciferol for Broiler Chickens [PDF]

open access: yesAsian-Australasian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2016
This study was conducted to evaluate the relative bioavailability (RBV) of 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-OH-D3) to cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) in 1- to 21-d-old broiler chickens fed with calcium (Ca)- and phosphorus (P)-deficient diets.

Comparison of the Micellar Incorporation and the Intestinal Cell Uptake of Cholecalciferol, 25-Hydroxycholecalciferol and 1-alpha-Hydroxycholecalciferol

open access: yes, 2017
In the context of the global prevalence of vitamin D insufficiency, we compared two key determinants of the bioavailability of 3 vitamin D forms with significant biopotencies: cholecalciferol, 25-hydroxycholecalciferol and 1-alpha-hydroxycholecalciferol.
