25-Hydroxycholecalciferol receptors in human breast cancer [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Cancer, 1979
Cytosol receptors for 25-hydroxycholecalciferol, oestradiol and progesterone were measured in human mammary carcinomas. Significant positive correlations were found between the concentrations of all three receptors.

Supraphysiological 25‐Hydroxyvitamin D3 and Calcipotriol Induce Reactive Oxygen Species, Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Apoptosis in HeLa Cervical Cancer Cells

open access: yesFASEB BioAdvances, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
Supraphysiological 25(OH)D3 and calcipotriol induced ROS accumulation or redox disturbance, increased mitochondrial membrane depolarization, reduced antioxidant enzyme activity, and caused apoptotic cell death in HeLa cells. ABSTRACT Cervical cancer remains a major global health challenge, necessitating continued advances in therapeutic strategies ...

Control of 25-Hydroxycholecalciferol Metabolism by Parathyroid Glands [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1972
Thyroparathyroidectomy of rats on a diet low in calcium reduces production of 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol from 25-hydroxycholecalciferol to negligible levels within 40 hr, and increases production of another metabolite, called Va. Parathyroid extract, at a dose of 20 units per day, prevents these changes.

The Hidden Burden of Water‐Binding Additives in Meat Products: Biochemical, Clinical, and Psychosocial Implications

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 70, Issue 16, 27 August 2026.
Graphical abstract illustrating how brining technology introduces water‐binding additives into processed meat. Their cumulative exposure may promote oxidative stress, inflammation, dysbiosis, and endothelial dysfunction, contributing to cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, colorectal cancer, and metabolic burden, while highlighting the need ...

EFFECTS OF THE COMBINATION OF NON-PHYTATE PHOSPHORUS, PHYTASE AND 25-HYDROXYCHOLECALCIFEROL ON THE PERFORMANCE AND MEAT QUALITY OF BROILER CHICKENS

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Poultry Science, 2015
This experiment was conducted to evaluate the combination effect of low dietary non-phytate phosphorus (NPP) concentrations, phytase (PHY) levels, and 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-OH-D3) levels on the growth performance and meat quality of broilers. Two
