We present here the nucleotide sequence of the gamma 2b membrane 3' untranslated region as well as approximately 443 nucleotides of 3' flanking sequence. Although this region contains two potential polyadenylation hexanucleotides AATAAA (located 1328 and 1407 nucleotides downstream of the last membrane exon), it appears that only the first site directs

IDENTIFICATION OF SHORTENED 3′ UNTRANSLATED REGIONS FROM EXPRESSION ARRAYS
Journal of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, 2012Cancer cells have been recently shown to express high level of short 3′UTR isoforms that can escape miRNA-mediated regulation. We present here a computational procedure for systematically identifying shortened 3′UTRs by Affymetrix 3′ microarrays. The advantage of this technology compared to more recent and promising ones such as exon arrays and RNA ...

Characterization of the 3′ untranslated region of the mouse homeobox geneHoxB5
Experientia, 1995The mouse pre-B cell line, 70Z/3, expresses multiple transcripts of the homeobox gene, HoxB5. We show here that this heterogeneity is due, at least in part, to the usage of alternative poly-A addition sites in the 3' untranslated region (UT) of the primary HoxB5 transcript.

Heterogeneity of 3′untranslated region of bovine acidic FGF transcripts
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1992A bovine aFGF genomic clone (14.2 Kb) has been isolated and characterized. This clone contains exons 2 and 3 interrupted by 6.7 Kb long intron. Exon 3 contains part of the coding region and the 3' untranslated region (3'UTR). Two overlapping cDNA clones specific for this 3'UTR have been isolated from bovine retina cDNA libraries or after amplification ...

The 3′ untranslated region of messenger RNA: A molecular ‘hotspot’ for pathology?
Nature Medicine, 2000The role of the 3' untranslated region in posttranscriptional regulation of mRNA expression is being elucidated. Here we describe diseases arising from anomalies in this region, that affect the expression of one or more genes.

mRNA translation: influence of the 5′ and 3′ untranslated regions
Current Opinion in Genetics & Development, 1994Eukaryotic messenger RNA utilization is a tightly controlled process. Control of translation is exerted at several levels, but the predominant step is ribosome binding, which is rate limiting for translation of most mRNAs. There appear to be several alternative modes by which ribosomes bind to the mRNA and initiate translation.

The role of the 3’ untranslated region in breast cancer
2018Our genes and the way in which our genetic code is read makes us who we are. Unfortunately, our genetic code can be altered or misinterpreted in cancer. The 3’ untranslated region is one such example of an important part of our genetic code that is read differently in cancer.

[Structure and function of 3'- untranslated region in picornavirus].
Bing du xue bao = Chinese journal of virology, 2014Both sides of the picornavirus genome have 5'-untranslated region (5'UTR) and 3'- untranslated region (3'UTR). This study demontrated that both the 5'-and 3'-UTR can form complex structures, such as stem-loop, clover and pseudoknot structure, These structures play an important role in the regulaton of the replication and translation of the viruses ...
