Development of microbial and/or enzymatic systems for the valorization of lignocellulosic wastes [PDF]
The future trend of white biotechnology is the seek of renewable resources for the production of goods, traditionally obtained from petrol. Shifting society’s dependence away from petroleum to renewable biomass resources is generally viewed as an ...

Safety evaluation of the food enzyme endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase from Bacillus subtilis (strain XAS)
The food enzyme is an endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase (4‐β‐d‐xylan xylanohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.8) produced with the genetically modified Bacillus subtilis strain XAS. Antibiotic resistance genes are present in the production organism on a self‐replicative vector.

ABSTRACT Lignocellulosic residues are non‐cost, non‐edible, renewable feedstocks that can be used in polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) production. PHB is a bioplastic synthetized by microorganisms, formed intracellularly under stressful growth conditions; however, its production costs are high, representing the major drawback for fossil‐based plastics ...
