Characterization of endo-1,4- β-xylanase.
A) Putative endo-1,4-β-xylanase was purified by 6xHis purification. B) 0.6 μg of endo-1,4-β-xylanase was combined with 100 μM of CMU-X2 to assess enzyme activity at different pH values.

Expression of the C-terminal family 22 carbohydrate-binding module of xylanase 10B of Clostridium themocellum in tobacco plant [PDF]
Carbohydrate-binding modules have been shown to alter plant cell wall structural architecture. Hence, they have the potential application of being used to engineer the plant to produce tailor-made natural fibers in the cell wall.

Integrated biorefinery for cellulosic ethanol and spherical nanolignin production from coconut waste
Abstract Green coconut waste was subjected to different fractionation methods to obtain integrated lignin nanoparticles and cellulosic ethanol. Pretreatment with gradual addition of dilute sulfuric acid provided a higher structural hemicellulose precursor yield (68.2%).

Gene Expression and Molecular Characterization of a Xylanase from Chicken Cecum Metagenome
A xylanase gene xynAMG1 with a 1,116-bp open reading frame, encoding an endo-β-1,4-xylanase, was cloned from a chicken cecum metagenome. The translated XynAMG1 protein consisted of 372 amino acids including a putative signal peptide of 23 amino acids ...

As is well-known, endo-1,4-β-xylanase and β-xylosidase are the rate-limiting enzymes in the degradation of xylan (the major hemicellulosic component), main functions of which are cleavaging xylan to release xylooligosaccharides (XOS) and xylose that ...
