A novel Aspergillus oryzae esterase that hydrolyzes 4‐hydroxybenzoic acid esters [PDF]
In this study we report the biochemical characterization of a hypothetical protein from Aspergillus oryzae exhibiting sequence identity with feruloyl esterase and tannase from the genus Aspergillus. The purified recombinant protein showed a hydrolytic activity toward the ethyl, propyl, or butyl esters of 4‐hydroxybenzoic acid, but did not show feruloyl

Synthetic Strategies for Activity‐Based Probes to Decode Ubiquitin‐Like Modifiers
ABSTRACT Ubiquitin‐like proteins (Ubls) such as SUMO, NEDD8, ISG15, URM1, UFM1, FAT10, ATG8/ATG12, and FUBI are essential regulators of cellular homeostasis, controlling processes from protein stability and trafficking to immune signaling and autophagy.

Bi2WO6@Black‐TiO2 hierarchical heterogeneous architectures are prepared via a simple hydrothermal/solvothermal strategy. An S‐Scheme carrier transfer mechanism with a solid ability to induce long‐lived electrons and holes with strong redox properties was identified via in situ x‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and time‐resolved photoluminescence ...

Hygroscopicity of organic surrogate compounds from biomass burning and their effect on the efflorescence of ammonium sulfate in mixed aerosol particles [PDF]
Hygroscopic growth factors of organic surrogate compounds representing biomass burning and mixed organic–inorganic aerosol particles exhibit variability during dehydration experiments depending on their chemical composition, which we observed using a ...

The Activity of ArabidopsisGlycosyltransferases toward Salicylic Acid, 4-Hydroxybenzoic Acid, and Other Benzoates [PDF]
Benzoates are a class of natural products containing compounds of industrial and strategic importance. In plants, the compounds exist in free form and as conjugates to a wide range of other metabolites such as glucose, which can be attached to the carboxyl group or to specific hydroxyl groups on the benzene ring. These glucosylation reactions have been

This study reports a photocatalytic H₂O₂ production rate of 14.9 mmol g⁻¹ h⁻¹, representing a 22.2‐fold enhancement. Additionally, the Fe‐free PSFs achieved complete degradation of 100 mg·L⁻¹ tetracycline within 10 min across a wide pH range. ABSTRACT Photocatalytic‐self‐Fenton system (PSFs) hold great promise for water purification through in situ ...

The underutilized parts viz: pawpaw seed, banana, plantain, and potato peels showed promising antioxidant and inhibition of α‐amylase and α‐glucosidase activities (IC50 values ≤ 100 μg/mL). Similarly, pawpaw seed, banana, plantain, and potato peels reduced postprandial hyperglycemia in sucrose‐ and maltose‐induced hyperglycemia in rats.
