Global Migration Law and Regional Free Movement: Compliance and Adjudication – The Case of South America

open access: yesAJIL Unbound, 2017
The field of global migration law looks beyond international law to incorporate all levels of the law, including the regional. This essay explores the regional regulation of mobility, which has indeed become a central subject of discussion and academic ...

Design of Safe and Efficient Adenine Base Editors via Protein Language Model Screening for Osteoarthritis Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Base editors enable precise genome modification and have emerged as a promising therapeutic approach for correcting diseases caused by single‐nucleotide variants. While the current efficient version of adenine base editors (ABEs), such as ABE8e, exhibits exceptional efficiency for A‐to‐G conversions, their clinical translation is hindered by ...

Altered A-to-I RNA Editing in Human Embryogenesis

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Post-transcriptional events play an important role in human development. The question arises as to whether Adenosine to Inosine RNA editing, catalyzed by the ADAR (Adenosine Deaminase acting on RNA) enzymes, differs in human embryogenesis and in adulthood.

In Vivo CRISPR Screening Identifies the Glutamate Receptor GRIA2 as Promoting Peritoneal Metastasis of Gastric Cancer via Calcium‐Dependent β‐Catenin Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identified GRIA2 as a critical driver of gastric cancer peritoneal metastasis through in vivo CRISPR screening. Mechanistically, GRIA2‐mediated calcium influx inhibits GSK3β and activates Wnt/β‐catenin signaling, driven by glutamate from cancer‐associated fibroblasts.

A Nonlinear Quantitative Model for Measuring Concentration Ratios From Raman Intensities

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Estimating concentration from Raman intensity ratios is complicated by cross‐contributions from overlapping peaks, causing measured ratios to deviate from the linear behavior assumed in conventional quantitative models. This nonlinear method fully accounts for cross‐contributions, allowing estimation of concentration over several orders of magnitude ...

Localization and Rendering of Sound Sources in Acoustic Fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015

Oxidation of LDL by rabbit and human 15-lipoxygenase: prevalence of nonenzymatic reactions

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2001
15-Lipoxygenase (15-LO)-induced oxidation of lipids in human LDL may be pro-atherogenic. However, the extent to which 15-LO promotes enzymatic oxidation of esterified (i.e., major) lipids in LDL may depend on various factors.

The Many Roles of A-to-I RNA Editing in Animals: Functional or Adaptive?

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience-Landmark, 2023
Metazoan adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) RNA editing is a highly conserved mechanism that diversifies the transcriptome by post-transcriptionally converting adenosine to inosine.
