Enhancing Probiotic Performance in Food Matrices: From Strain Selection to Bioengineering
ABSTRACT Probiotics are central to functional food innovation, but their application is limited by viability loss during processing, storage, and gastrointestinal (GI) transit. A key insight is that viability and functionality are distinct attributes; maintaining high cell counts does not guarantee that probiotics retain their beneficial properties ...

Bioactive compounds and strategy processing for acerola: A review
Various studies have evaluated that acerola fruit is one of the best natural sources of vitamin- C. Besides that, the fruits also contain a high level of phenolic and carotenoids. The result tested in vitro performed that acerola extract can be antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, antihyperglycemic, antitumor antigenotoxic and hepatoprotective activity ...

Fruit juices contain a variety of bioactive compounds (mainly polyphenols, anthocyanins, carotenoids, and vitamin C) with antioxidant properties. Traditional thermal processing methods may negatively affect the stability of these compounds, leading to reductions in polyphenol and anthocyanin content, decreased vitamin C levels, and antioxidant activity.

Evaluation of the acerola juice concentrated by reverse osmosis [PDF]
The aim of this study was to obtain the acerola juice using separation processes with membranes. The acerola pulp was initially defrosted and treated with 100 ppm of Citrozym Ultra L enzyme at 45ºC for one hour, then ultrafiltrated at 3 bar at 45ºC using 0.1 µm ceramic membrane, and concentrated by reverse osmosis using a spiral membrane of a compound ...

Monkey Meltdowns: Do Tantrums Influence Maternal Investment in Bearded Capuchin Monkeys?
ABSTRACT Tantrums are widely discussed in human development literature and are typically defined as displays of frustration or anger. In behavioral ecology, they are hypothesized to function as a strategy for securing greater maternal investment. Infant primates often exhibit tantrums when their attempts to obtain maternal care are rejected.
