Proteome Analysis of Corynebacterium diphtheriae–Macrophage Interaction

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Contact of Corynebacterium diphtheriae with macrophages induces adaptations on both bacterial and cellular sides. The study presented here was aiming to shed light on the simultaneous intracellular adaptation of the bacteria and changes in the proteome of the phagocytes in response to the internalization of C. diphtheriae.

Transfer of glucose hydrogens via acetyl-CoA, malonyl-CoA, and NADPH to fatty acids during de novo lipogenesis

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2019
Deuterated water (2H2O) is widely used for measuring de novo lipogenesis (DNL). 2H is incorporated into fatty acids via exchange between body water and the hydrogens of acetyl-CoA, malonyl-CoA, and NADPH.

Effects of Saffron Supplementation on Glycolipid Metabolism and Blood Pressure in Patients With Metabolic Syndrome and Related Disorders: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Saffron is a traditional herbal medicine used to treat conditions associated with metabolic syndrome (MetS). However, the conclusions of relevant clinical studies have been inconsistent. This study aimed to assess the impact of saffron supplementation on the metabolism of glycolipids and blood pressure in individuals with MetS and related ...
