Preliminary Insights Into the Incorporation of Common Hop (Humulus lupulus L.) Into the Fish Feed: Effect on Growth Performance, Whole‐Body Proximate Composition, Fillet Fatty Acid Composition, Blood Biochemical, and Antioxidant Properties of Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio L.)

open access: yesAquaculture Research, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
The present study assessed the effect of common hop (Humulus lupulus L.) extract on common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.). Fish (initial weight of 32.22 ± 0.65 g) were divided into three groups and fed diets containing 0 (control), 0.75 g (H0.75), and 1.5 g (H1.5) of common hop extract per kg of isonitrogenous, isolipidic, and isoenergetic commercial diet ...

Myotomal myogenesis of axial muscle in the sturgeon Acipenser baeri (Chondrostei, Acipenseriformes)

open access: yesFolia Biologica, 2005
Compared to teleost fishes, a unique character of the myogenesis of the plesiomorphic A. baeri is the fusion of myoblasts derived from the somite, leading to the formation of multinucleate muscle lamellae. Then, the lamellae are converted into cylindrical muscle fibres. The mechanism of transformation of lamellae into fibres is still debatable.

Antioxidant biomarker survey ensuing long-term selenium withdrawal in Acipenser baeri fed Se-cysteine diets

open access: yes, 2014
Two selenium withdrawal periods, 30 and 90 days, were considered for sturgeon fed 90 days three Se-cysteine diets (1.25, 5, 20 mg kg(-1)). Subsequently Acipenser baeri was fed the previous control diet (0.32 mg Se kg(-1)) for 90 days.

Evaluation of the effect of chitosan loaded with Natamaycin nanoparticles, lysozyme and acetic acid on shelf life of Siberian Sturgeon (Acipenser baeri) Caviar

open access: yes‬‭Majallah-i ̒Ilmī-i Shīlāt-i Īrān, 2018
Caviar is one of the most important export products of Iran's fisheries industry. Because of the unpasteurized nature of the process, it is very vulnerable to spoilage.
