Acridone studies. VI. Bromination of acridones in chloroform
In chloroform and acetic acid, N-methylacridone and methoxylated derivatives rapidly form 1 : 2 adducts with bromine, formulated as hypobromite salts. On gentle warming these decompose to the monobromo substitution product.
