Effect of SDS Micelles on Actinomycin D – DNA Complexes

open access: yesActa Chimica Slovenica, 2022
DNA thermal denaturation was evaluated as a measure of the effect of antitumor drug actinomycin D on the stability of the double helix and also the effect of SDS micelles on actinomycin D – DNA complexes.

Molecular Details of Actinomycin D-Treated MRSA Revealed via High-Dimensional Data

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2022
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is highly concerning as a principal infection pathogen. The investigation of higher effective natural anti-MRSA agents from marine Streptomyces parvulus has led to the isolation of actinomycin D, that ...

Identification and characterization of Streptomyces flavogriseus NJ-4 as a novel producer of actinomycin D and holomycin [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2017
This paper is the first public report that Streptomyces flavogriseus can produce both actinomycin D and holomycin. The actinomycete strain NJ-4 isolated from the soil of Nanjing Agricultural University was identified as S. flavogriseus.

Isolation, characterization, anti-MRSA evaluation, and in-silico multi-target anti-microbial validations of actinomycin X2 and actinomycin D produced by novel Streptomyces smyrnaeus UKAQ_23

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Streptomyces smyrnaeus UKAQ_23, isolated from the mangrove-sediment, collected from Jubail,Saudi Arabia, exhibited substantial antimicrobial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), including non-MRSA Gram-positive test ...

Apoptosis of neuronal cells in the brains of postembryonic silkworms Bombyx mori (Lepidoptera: Bombycidae)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Entomology, 2009
The pattern and signal transduction of neuronal apoptosis in the brain of the silk moth, Bombyx mori, during postembryonic life, were characterized. Peak numbers of apoptotic neurons were detected in 4 day old 4th instar larvae, 9 day old 5th instar ...

Involvement of Reactive Oxygen Species in the Hepatorenal Toxicity of Actinomycin V In Vitro and In Vivo

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2020
The high toxicity of actinomycin D (Act D) severely limits its use as a first-line chemotherapeutic agent in the clinic. Actinomycin V (Act V), an analog of Act D, exhibited strong anticancer activity in our previous studies.

Biocontrol of strawberry gray mold caused by Botrytis cinerea with the termite associated Streptomyces sp. sdu1201 and actinomycin D

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2022
Strawberry gray mold caused by Botrytis cinerea is one of the most severe diseases in pre- and post-harvest periods. Although fungicides have been an effective way to control this disease, they can cause serious “3R” problems (Resistance, Resurgence and ...

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.
