An Immunodominant Membrane Protein (Imp) of ‘Candidatus Phytoplasma mali’ Binds to Plant Actin

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2012
The phytopathogenic, cell-wall-less phytoplasmas exhibit a dual life cycle: they multiply in the phloem of their host plant and in the body of their insect vector.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Actin in development

open access: yesMechanisms of Development, 2003
1. From molecules to morphologyMetazoan development is often viewed as a series ofinformation processing events in which the genomecomputes where and when to synthesize particular geneproducts. Importantly, development is also a feat ofengineering in which genetic information is used to changecell shape and cell–cell interactions to generate form ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Cooperation between β-and α-cytoplasmic actins in the mechanical regulation of endothelial microparticle formation

open access: yes, 2013
Elevated endothelial microparticle (MP) levels are observed in numerous diseases, increasingly supporting roles as effectors and valuable markers of vascular dysfunction.

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Histochemistry, 2012
I am pretty sure that I don’t have to spend a single word to talk about the role played by tight junctions in biological processes and in keeping alive the cellular bases of life !

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Microvascular pericytes contain muscle and nonmuscle actins

open access: yes, 2018
We have affinity-fractionated rabbit antiactin immunoglobulins (IgG) into classes that bind preferentially to either muscle or nonmuscle actins. The pools of muscle- and nonmuscle-specific actin antibodies were used in conjunction with fluorescence ...

Epithelial Protein Lost in Neoplasm α (Eplin-α) is transcriptionally regulated by G-actin and MAL/MRTF coactivators

open access: yesMolecular Cancer, 2010
Epithelial Protein Lost in Neoplasm α is a novel cytoskeleton-associated tumor suppressor whose expression inversely correlates with cell growth, motility, invasion and cancer mortality.
