Fault-tolerant Control for Multi-agent with Actuator Fault

2020 39th Chinese Control Conference (CCC), 2020
This paper proposes a distributed adaptive control approach based on consensus theory so that a multi-agent formation can still complete the task despite the local fault of the leader for the multi-agent formation system. The controlled object consists of four agents that form a triangle formation system, where one agent acts as the vertex of the ...

ESO-based fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant for incipient actuator faults

2013 25th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (CCDC), 2013
A fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control approach is proposed which is based on extended state observer for systems with random disturbance and incipient actuator faults. Firstly, random disturbance and incipient fault are put in the extended state of ESO, thus the incipient fault can be diagnosed without using the residual. Then, the optimal fault-

Fault detection of actuator faults in unmanned underwater vehicles

Control Engineering Practice, 1999
Abstract A fault-diagnostic system for unmanned underwater vehicles has been designed and tested in real operating conditions. Actuator faults have been considered, relying on approximate models of the vehicles’ dynamics. Fault detection and diagnosis is accomplished by evaluating any significant change in the behaviour of the vehicle.

Robust Estimation of Actuator Faults

2016
We have discussed the issue of actuator/sensor fault detection and isolation (FDI) in the last two chapters. However, FDI can only indicate when and where a fault occurs in the system, but cannot provide more comprehensive information of the fault such as magnitude, shape, and duration.

Actuator Fault Detection for Vehicle Lateral Dynamics

2018 5th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT), 2018
This paper proposes an actuator fault detection based on unknown input observer for simultaneously state estimation and fault estimation applied to lateral vehicle dynamics. The lateral dynamics is modeled by a linear parameter varying model where the longitudinal velocity is considered as parameter varying.

Fault-tolerant control method for actuator and component faults

Proceedings of the 37th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.98CH36171), 2002
In this paper, a fault-tolerant control method is developed. This method makes possible the compensation of additive or multiplicative actuator and component faults. Its principle is based on the online estimation of a quantity which is equal to zero in the fault-free case and equal to the fault magnitude when a fault occurs on the system.

Fault-tolerance Evaluation of Actuator Fault Configurations

2010
In this chapter, the fault tolerance of a certain actuator fault configuration (AFC) is evaluated within the framework of a linear MPC law with constraints. The issue of fault-tolerance evaluation has already been treated in the literature for an LQR problem without constraints (Staroswiecki, 2003), due to the existence of an analytical solution ...

RECONFIGURATION ON ELECTRIC VEHICLE AFTER MAJOR ACTUATOR FAULTS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2006
Abstract In this paper, a longitudinal and lateral dynamic nonlinear model of an electric vehicle (known as “RobuCar”) composed on 6 actuators is developed for the first time. Each wheel is controlled by DC motor and the steering angle is also controlled by DC motors (one for front and one for the rear).

Fault detection for quantized feedback systems with actuator faults

2016 American Control Conference (ACC), 2016
This paper investigates the fault detection problem of quantized feedback systems with actuator faults, and system outputs are respectively quantized by a uniform quantizer and a non-uniform quantizer. A new method is proposed to deal with quantization errors, that is, the quantization errors are considered as the unknown inputs of the residual ...

Actuator Fault Detection in UAVs

2014
Future unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will be designed to achieve their missions with increased efficiency, safety, and security. To this end, an efficient fault detection and isolation (FDI) system should be capable of monitoring the health status of the aircraft.
