This study demonstrates that ALY688, a drug mimicking the heart‐protective hormone adiponectin, reduces myocardial ischemia injury. ALY688 increases the production of extracellular vesicles, which carry protective cargo including adiponectin itself.

Lrat+ quiescent hepatic stellate cells (qHSC) give rise to Lrat+Fbln2+ activated HSC (aHSC) in alcohol‐associated hepatitis and this subpopulation is highly profibrotic, inflammatory, and immunoregulatory based on their single cell transcriptomic profile. Abstract Background and Aims Relative roles of HSCs and portal fibroblasts in alcoholic hepatitis (

Molecular studies on plant glycerol-s-phosphate acyltransferases [PDF]
The main objective of this research is to advance our understanding of the biochemical properties and the structure-function relationships of the chloroplast glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferases in plants.

Effect of Early Enteral Feeding on Apolipoprotein AI Levels and High-Density Lipoprotein Heterogeneity in Preterm Infants [PDF]
Background/Aim: We have previously shown that infants receiving total parenteral nutrition have low apolipoprotein Al levels which are associated with high-density lipoprotein (HDL) class distributions as in lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase ...

A novel pathway for lipid biosynthesis: the direct acylation of glycerol
The acylation of glycerol-3-phosphate by acyl-CoA is regarded as the first committed step for the synthesis of the lipoidal moiety in glycerolipids. The direct acylation of glycerol in mammalian tissues has not been demonstrated.

Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.

Molecular and structural studies on proteins involved in lipid biosynthesis in plants and bacteria [PDF]
Fatty acid synthesis in plants and most bacteria is catalysed by a type II, dissociable fatty acid synthetase, critically involving the participation of acyl-carrier protein (ACP) during synthesis and elongation reactions. This provides the substrate for

ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus‐induced erectile dysfunction (DMED) is a highly prevalent complication among diabetic patients; however, its underlying pathogenic mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Metabolic disorder is a hallmark of diabetes, yet its precise contribution to DMED progression is not well defined.

Biotransormations with plant coenzyme A-dependent acyltransferases [PDF]
The acylation of plant natural products is widely observed in nature and this modification often confers novel bioactivities. In nature, each of these acylations is selectively catalysed by a coenzyme A-dependent acyltransferase and biotransformations ...

Studies of rat adipose-tissue microsomal glycerol phosphate acyltransferase [PDF]
Incubation of rat adipose-tissue microsomal fractions with iodoacetate caused an inactivation of glycerol phosphate acyltransferase that could be prevented by the presence of palmitoyl-CoA.
