Microcone Array‐Mediated Distance Tuning for Photonic Nanojet‐Amplified SERS

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A tunable microcone array platform provides precise vertical gap control between dielectric microspheres and a SERS‐active surface. This structural regulation aligns the photonic nanojet focal point with plasmonic hotspots, delivering a 15‐fold optical signal enhancement.

Sequencing and analysis of the DNA genome of the temperate bacteriophage Aa[Phi]23 of "Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans" [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The entire genomic sequence of the AaΦ23 bacteriophage is presented. Its size is 43,033 bp and it has an overall molar G+C content of 41mol%. 57 potential open reading frames (ORFs) were identified.

m6A‐Mediated Glycolysis by IL‐37 Drives T Cell Metabolic Reprogramming to Regulate Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies an IL‐37/SIGIRR‐METTL14 regulatory axis that suppresses global m6A modification in CD4+ T cells. IL‐37 signaling, mediated through SIGIRR, inhibits IRAK4 and JNK phosphorylation, leading to downregulation of the methyltransferase METTL14.

Auto‐Downregulation of the Florigen FT Production Prevents Precocious Flowering in Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that the leaf vein‐expressed FD complexes with the florigen FT to bind DNA motifs in FT promoter, which antagonizes CONSTANS‐mediated FT activation to feedback down‐regulate FT expression. This prevents an excessive induction of FT expression by inductive photoperiods, thereby precluding precocious transition to flowering in ...

Role of Adenine in Thymine-Dimer Repair by Reduced Flavin-Adenine Dinucleotide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We present a study of excited-state behavior of reduced flavin cofactors using femtosecond optical transient absorption spectroscopy. The reduced flavin cofactors studied were in two protonation states: flavin-adenine dinucleotide (FADH(2) and FADH ...

VDAC1 Upregulation Induces Hyperexcitability of Nociceptive Sensory Neurons Via Enhanced Mitochondrial Atp Efflux in Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanism diagram of VDAC1 mediating neuronal excitability and neuropathic pain. Briefly, VDAC1 is expressed in DRG neurons and is upregulated following CCI‐induced neuropathic pain. This upregulation enhances ATP transport from mitochondria to the cytoplasm in sensory neurons, leading to increased neuronal excitability and pain behavior.

Mitochondrial SLC25A46 Rewires Fatty Acid Oxidation to Promote Cell Proliferation and Ferroptosis Evasion in Ovarian Cancer by Stabilizing CACT

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial SLC25A46 is upregulated in ovarian cancer (OC) and correlates with poor prognosis. SLC25A46 stabilizes CACT to activate fatty acid oxidation, increasing ATP and NADPH production to drive cell proliferation and ferroptosis evasion. SLC25A46 silencing sensitizes OC cells to ferroptosis and carboplatin, offering a promising therapeutic ...

Reassignment of the low lying cationic states in gas phase adenine and 9-methyl adenine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Using time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy results, we reassign the electronic character and ionization energies of the low lying cationic states of adenine and 9-methyl adenine. For adenine, the state ordering is D-0(pi(-1)) = 8.5 eV, D-1(n(-1)) = 9.

DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM Analyses Implicate the Critical Role of RNA Structural Dynamics in Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus Pathogenicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RNA structural profiling of Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus by DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM analyses uncover that viral genome‐wide RSS is highly complicated and heterogeneous, with alternative RSSs widely distributed across the genome. Notably, the viral 3’ tRNA‐like structure adopts alternative conformations in vivo.

A new family of high-affinity transporters for adenine, cytosine, and purine derivatives in Arabidopsis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
In many organisms, including plants, nucleic acid bases and derivatives such as caffeine are transported across the plasma membrane. Cytokinins, important hormones structurally related to adenine, are produced mainly in root apices, from where they are ...
