PLAGL1 overexpression exacerbates type 1 diabetes by inducing β‐cell apoptosis via oxidative stress‐dependent dual DNA damage and cGAS/STING pathway activation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation
Background Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) arises from autoimmune destruction of pancreatic β‐cells. Pleomorphic adenoma gene‐like 1 (PLAGL1) overexpression has been linked to β‐cell apoptosis, but molecular mechanisms remain incompletely understood ...

Physiological significance of autocrine orexinergic signaling in extra-hypothalamic tissues. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysiol Rep
Mechanisms of autocrine orexinergic effects in extra‐hypothalamic tissues. Abstract Orexin‐A and orexin‐B, originally discovered as hypothalamic neuropeptides, have been detected in extra‐hypothalamic tissues together with their receptors (OX1R and OX2R) since the early 2000s.

CT and MRI Manifestations of Pancreatic Hemangioma: A Literature Review and a New Case Report. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Case Rep
ABSTRACT Pancreatic hemangioma is an extremely rare benign tumor occurring in the pancreas. Preoperative diagnosis is challenging due to its lack of specificity in clinical manifestations and imaging examinations. Assessing tumor progression factors by somatic gene transfer into a mouse model: Bcl-xL promotes islet tumor cell invasion. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2007
Tumors develop through multiple stages, implicating multiple effectors, but the tools to assess how candidate genes contribute to stepwise tumor progression have been limited. We have developed a novel system in which progression of phenotypes in a mouse
