Role of CD73/adenosine/A2A pathway in the modulation of inflammatory processes

open access: yes, 2017
Manipulation of the course or of the extension of an inflammatory reaction may include the effort not only to inhibit pro-inflammatory pathways but also through an approach able to enhance endogenous anti-inflammatory processes.

Adenosine receptors and reperfusion injury of the heart

open access: yes, 2009
Adenosine, a catabolite of ATP, exerts numerous effects in the heart, including modulation of the cardiac response to stress, such as occurs during myocardial ischemia and reperfusion.

The roles of adenosine and adenosine receptors in bone remodeling

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience, 2011
Adenosine regulates a wide variety of physiological processes including heart rate, vasodilation and inflammation through the activation of specific cell surface adenosine receptors. In addition to these well-established roles of adenosine, recent genetic and pharmacological research has implicated adenosine as an important regulator in bone remodeling.

Tropomyosin 1 Promotes Platelet Adhesion and Clot Contraction Separate from Its Roles in Developmental Hematopoiesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Genome‐wide association studies (GWAS) link the Tropomyosin 1 (Tpm1) locus to quantitative blood trait variation, but related mechanisms are unclear. Tpm1 encodes an actin‐binding protein that regulates actin filament diversity, cell adhesion, signaling, and actomyosin contractility.

Adenosine kinase of Trypanosoma brucei and its role in susceptibility to adenosine antimetabolites

open access: yes, 2007
Trypanosoma brucei cannot synthesize purines de novo and relies on purine salvage from its hosts to build nucleic acids. With adenosine being a preferred purine source of bloodstream-form trypanosomes, adenosine kinase (AK; EC 2.7.1.20) is likely to be a

EMERGENCY TREATMENT OF SVT: ADENOSINE VERSUS VERAPAMIL

open access: yesJournal of University Medical & Dental College, 2017
: Introduction: Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is a common arrhythmia seen in critical care settings. After vagal maneuvers, adenosine 6 to 12 mg intravenous bolus is the initial drug of choice.

Combating VEGFA‐siRNA‐Induced Metabolic Reprogramming via Glucose Utilization Deprivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ionizable lipid nanoparticle co‐delivers VEGFA siRNA and glucose oxidase to tumors to counteract VEGFA knockdown‐induced, glutamine‐driven metabolic compensation. Enzymatic glucose consumption reverses the adaptive pathways and restores metabolism toward baseline, thereby sensitizing tumors to therapy.

THE A3 ADENOSINE RECEPTOR: A LINK BETWEEN INFLAMMATION AND CANCER.

open access: yes, 2010
Adenosine is an endogenous and ubiquitous nucleoside that exerts many biological functions through interaction with 4 distinct subtypes of G protein-coupled receptors divided into A1, A2A, A2B, and A3.

Functional Mapping of Neurodevelopmental Disease Pathways to Key Neurodevelopmental Processes Represented in the Developmental Neurotoxicity In Vitro Testing Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human‐relevant methods are essential for modern chemical safety assessment. This study helps define the capabilities and boundaries of an in vitro testing battery for developmental neurotoxicity by exploring its biological applicability domain. By linking neurodevelopmental disease‐related pathways to key neurodevelopmental processes, the work enhances
